Theses are my observations from last night's game.

1- if this coaching staff is legit the Dallas Thomas and billy turner experiment is over. Tunsil and bushrod should be the starting guards. (Dallas should be cut today!!)

2-Jakeem grant is a legit weapon. Nra and I have been yelling from the rooftops that this kid fans will fall in love with.

3- Tunsil straight up dominated the Giants 2s and 3s. That kid very talented player.

4- our rbs are foster, ayayi, drake but pead needs reps w the 1s. I like him.

5- juwan James and Jordan philips( I loved this kids talent) not looking very good to be honest.

6- coaching is night and day after the failbin era.

with all that said the most glaring decision that needs to be made by Monday is replacing our guards asap. You cannot go into next week with Dallas and turner as your guards. You have to give tannehill a chance to succeed.

honorable mention goes to Caroo. He's for real.

Tunsil may have dominated 1-on-1, but he also had trouble with missing assignments on stunts. I also saw him "give up on the play" a couple of times and it cost us. I think he just isn't comfortable yet in the new position, but he will be much better than Thomas when he is ready...but, he simply isn't ready yet.

his first live nfl action, the played kept longer than he thought it would he will catch up

So happy about Grant, he looks amazing. VERY impressed with Doughty, would be interested to see how he does against a real defense.

Given the injury history of Foster, Ajayi and Drake...it would be smart to carry 4 RBs on this roster but I think Williams still has the edge as the 4th guy given his special team ability and I've read they've lined him up as a fullback on occasion in camp...so that versatility comes into play.

Ju'Wuan James is come off injury. He did miss quite a few games last year in the 2nd half of the season. How much of that is effecting him right now I don't know but lets hope he gets back into form. Last thing this team needs is another O-lineman sucking it up on the field. Regardless, O-line can't take a step forward until Dallas Thomas is not longer part of that unit. I saw the replay of the game this morning and it was the same 'ol Dallas Thomas we all saw last year...yet here he is starting again. Can't understand why 3 head coaches now, can't see what is in plain sight.

agree on thomas, not sure I agree on turner.

can he stay healthy? injury in preseason game one doesn't look promising.

Looking at number 1... yes, start him over thomas now. experiment over.

keeps running like that, and drake keeps running on injured, then yes, pead makes the team.

5- juwan James and Jordan philips( I loved this kids talent) not looking very good to be honest.
not enough reps to judge them on game one. I certainly won't get down on either over a penalties in the preseason.

6- coaching is night and day after the failbin era.
is it? again not enough to tell after one preseason game.

I say replacing one is needed. two? what did turner do or not do to warrant a demotion?

Too early to tell IMO.

The only think I can think of with Dallas Thomas is that his attitude and level of respect is just top notch, as well as his work ethic. So coach after coach continues to want to believe he can succeed. But he just doesn't have the talent level when the lights are on. And I guess nobody will be satisfied until Tannehill suffers a season ending injury from Thomas being pushed back into his knee. Ridiculous.

Has to be something like that, I completely agree. Remember he logged more hours than anyone in the 2015 offseason. So yes he must have a great work ethic and probably has a good understanding of what he needs to do. He just can't do it. What does he do well? What are his strengths?? I'd love to know.

This just dawned on me as I sit here watching the lambs & 'boys. Grant, Doughty, Tunsil, Carroo, & even Duarte showed flashes last night.

How long has it been since we could say that? At least, 7-8 yrs IMO.

I agree with your assessment Dr., but even without being quite up to speed w/ being a guard, Tunsil is far better than Thomas and less of a liability to Tanni and the team.

It's entirely possible that they didn't have anyone good enough behind Thomas to step up and take his place. Easy to say "throw the bum out" (or words to that effect), but them replace him with who? Hopefully, this year we do.

- Anyone named Thomas needs to be cut. No excuse for Michael to give up on that long completion on the Giants first drive.

- I like Grant but his size is an issue. If there was a guy that I would want to emulate Ted Ginn's contact shyness its Grant. Legit playmaker but a candidate for IR.

- The performance of the RBs solidifies how bad the Drake pick is. No way Thomas makes the team. Pead or Williams will be the 4th RB unless the waiver wire produces a better option. Hope that Foster and Ajayi stay healthy because history indicates Drake wont.

- Tony Lippett plays better in games than practice.

- I wished Gase would have given Doughty more play time. He has issues with arm strength but the guy finds the open receiver because he sees the field so well. I was impressed how quickly Doughty went through progressions and picked the right guy. I'm sure Hoops will disagree but in the limited snaps I have seen of him, he processes info faster than Tannehill. He makes the 53.

The play of Kenneth Dixon and Jonathan Williams adds some extra sting to the Drake pick. The 4th and 5th RD RB's each rushed for 44 yards (9 carries for Dixon, 8 for Williams) and looked strong doing it. Williams was the Bills best pick. He's decisive, fast, and he has the feet to make defenders miss in the hole. He's exactly what Miami needed as a runner. Dixon isn't quite as good between the tackles, but he's more versatile. Either would have been a huge help.
