As much as I hate to write this, we should be looking at the remainder of this year AND next year as a sunk cost. This will allow us to get out of contracts that never should have been signed (Tannehill, Branch, Jones...etc) while stock piling young talent.

As for coaching, I don't think our coach is terrible; however if he couldn't see 2016 as the fluke it was it makes me question his talent judgement. Flash forward to last year and this year where he didn't pull the trigger on moves because he thought we could still be relevant further these questions.

At the end of the day we have been making low ceiling/relatively high floor moves that 1) keeps us from bottoming out and 2) keeps those employed in such decisions keeping a paycheck for as long as possible.

Being honest, would any of us NOT trade the position of the raiders compared to we are? They have a situation where those employed can easily look past collecting their next paycheck and can actually focus on a long term plan.

My observation is that Steve Ross still doesn’t know a golf ball from a football and Adam Gase sucks. Oh, and as a result, we suck.
Why are you blaming Ross exactly???? I think he did everything to make the Dolphins a winning organization even how the stadium is setup.

30 seconds :)

The quick version ... every hire he's made has been poor and the only thing he's done that he can be given props for is fixing the stadium with his own $ ... but that was after his request to dump it on taxpayers was rejected.

Not one thing he's done in 10 years has made his team any better. His main desire is making money. He has zero ties to Miami and could give two shits about the fins.

Ross picked the GM and it starts right there....t-baum sucks and so does Grier and Ross needs to clean house once and for all

What Dole said. The man has hired poorly. Letting T-Dumb’s slimey ass into the building was the worst move of all. Management here blows. Hence why the team is irrelevant.

Fans are frustrated....they are going to blame someone, so Ross is a likely target.

The man spends money, I just wish it resulted in better results.

That game should have been much closer. That's my observation. Green Bay is anything but a world beater, as the 3-4-1 record indicated and likely their subsequent results will indicate.

* The early snap situation ruined an opportunity to grab the lead and obviously some of those field goals have to be touchdowns. A healthy Tannehill makes that game much more interesting, although that is danger in itself because we probably lose anyway and then we're using 2018 to wait and rationalize again.

* Our defense actually did a good job several times of thwarting Green Bay after they reached 2nd and short, including near midfield or in positive territory.

* But I have no idea what Xavien Howard is doing waving his finger at Adams during a late deficit, when Howard has already botched some meaningful plays.

That is Reshad Jones type of garbage from earlier in his career...me first.

Early '70s Dolphins never would have threatened anything like that while losing. Shula would have yanked them off the field by the facemask.

* This field goal kicker is very promising. I was wrong thinking we should keep the other guy. That's the problem of seeing so few actual attempts in preseason as opposed to practice. Our kicker has a wonderful slight draw every time, and that is the ideal ball flight in golf and placekicking.

If I’m Ross I’m sitting my GM and coach down and asking, “Why would I be optimistic in this team you have built? Give me some reasons.” Those answers are why FANS will be optimistic, and optimism equates to attending the games, and people spending their hard earned money to support the team.

If Ross is unconvinced in their answers, they need to be dispatched. We need a vision for this team, an identity, and we currently have nothing. You can see that complete and utter lack of a plan from the top on down.

That is the problem with our team, what can be done next year. I am sure a consultant can come up with a 11 win plan that takes advantage of of a easy schedule.

Again, this is a low ceiling projection, I want a chance to compete. Not a chance to barely make the playoffs on a good year, where at best we go 10-6 and get blasted by an act

I do think to an extent Adam Gase has been oddly unlucky as head coach. I also think he will be back next year.

With that said, the QB situation is his own doing. I hope Ross sits down Gase at the end of the year and tells him he needs a plan for next year at quarterback that doesn't involve Ryan Tannehill.

I also think he needs to bring in an outsider for the defense. The scheme isn't working. Someone that likes to blitz instead of calling a cover 3 or cover 4 like they're playing madden would be nice.

Finally, i think he needs to do his due diligence to find the best offensive line coach he possibly can. Personally, I would look into Brent Key at Alabama and see if he's interested in taking on the task on a pro level.

Not all that many owners had ties to the team's they bought. If anything being a long time part-time Palm Beach resident and having gone to high school in Miami Ross has more ties to this team than Kroenke to LA, Haslem to Cleveland, Wilf to Mpls, Lurie (or Braman before him) to Philly, the Bidwells to Phoenix, Khan to Jacksonville, The Pegulas to Buffalo (who still mostly live in Boca) off the top of my head for starters.

IMO theres certainly things to criticize Ross about, but that one's a non-starter
