i am kind of interested to see how this turns out i mean they are all well respected but i remember Ross talking about getting the "young" shula. I hope they can relate to our younger players.

So we're done, these 50 year olds never win **** ..... (sacarsm)

Well Shula is in his 80's, so I think they still qualify.

I think guys in there 50's are just about right for the nfl level... I was only discourage about philbin, when I thought he was old. turns out it was a bad picture.

People are going to hold on tight to that "young Shula" statement, huh? Get over it.

Im pissed. They didnt even give me an interview. I thought I had a shot after that comment.

I'm not even sure thats even what he meant by that statement. I'm not sure he meant that he literally wanted to find a young coach that was the second coming of Don Shula. I think he meant (jokingly) that he'd like to go back in time and hire Don Shula all over again

A lot of coaches in the NFL are around that 48-50 somethin age range and are highly successful still..its not like they have been under a rock, they have been coaching at a high level in other places.it doesn't concern me at all.

I don't care if they're 70. I just want Miami to turn this around and be respected again instead of looked down upon. I loved hearing how Philbin is going work on making the guys work hard and teach improve their skills weekly. One reason I love college football. Seems like at pro level players are in it for money and nightlife. Plus some on here wanted Cowher, Billick or Fisher guessing they are all 50.

Supposed new DC is the wild card for me, don't know much about him. Cinny's DB seem to be athletic and good, just can't healthy but when they are the Bengals are usually winning. Will have to do ome research on him. The other coaches Miami brings onI guess I hope are younger, hungry guys that want dig in and work hard to be HC coaches on day. At this point I am very excited to see draft,FA, and trades to really so how drastic this roter turns over. Gonna be a fun off season!

Yeah these old coaches like the two in the super bowl, Belichick (59) and Coughlin (65) definitely can't relate to the younger players. We should have tried to hire a coach who's like 29 or 30 so he can relate.

Well Dick LeBeau is 74 and he's still balling as a coordinator.

As long as their football schemes and philosophies don't match their age, they should be fine.

Guys just wanna work and be around guys their own age, so they can relate to each other. Now if he was hiring GIRL coordinators, it would be a whole different story :hump:
