McKinnie will rely on his experience to get through the first few games. His instincts will prove more beneficial than his understanding of our protection and blocking. I don't care if he does not understand all of our schemes yet. If he can operate on the correct snap count and take care of the man directly in front of him, that's all I care about right now.

Sitting him on the bench will not motivate him. And it will not get Clabo off the field. If Clabo is on the field, you'll see a large green arrow on the screen and see NE pour through the line at his position.

I'd rather see defenses have to figure out how to get to Tanny with an unknown quantity of McKinnie than KNOW how to kill Tanny with Clabo on the line.

Even if mystery of how to attack us with McKinnie takes a couple of drives to figure out. That's a couple of drives we might be able to score. Which might prove to be the difference in the game. We're clawing for inches with our current OLine. We need all we can get.

I dont buy that mckinnie should have been traded for after the baltimore game before the bye week. If we had beaten buffalo, I think there would be 90% less people talking about needing to make a trade.

It's real easy to say we should have made a trade 3 weeks ago, after everybody got to watch the dismantling of clabo against buffalo... But I didn't hear nearly as many people barking for a trade before last week.

that being said... i absolutely think mckinnie needs to start, and to take it a step further, he needs to be very good. We are dangerously close to getting our qb killed, than lights out on the season if he goes down.

my concerns with mckinnie being ready aren't physical but they may be mental...i think communication could be an issue in this short a period of time...could see him struggle to pick up some stunts that kind of thing...some missed assignments

still any line that loses clabo in it i'm gonna be down with til further notice...

If your the Dolphins you tell the big fella "Keep your man from touching the QB" . . . that is your job. Nothing else. He's not a fit for the ZBS anyways and Miami didn't bring him here to be a fit for the ZBS. He's here to protect Tannehill's blindside and hopefully Martin can hold up on the right side better than Clabo. Hopefully protecting the QB and allowing Tannehill to make plays in the air will open up the running game and then we can get some proper balance on offense.

I mean he could completely suck also, but at this point I'm glad the stubbornness from the coaching staff didn't linger any further in regards to the tackle situation. Something had to be done.

The mistake here was in not trading for McKinnie just after the Ravens game, when he would've had two weeks to learn the system and perhaps could've started against Buffalo.

It takes two teams to make a trade work. Who says the Ravens where ready to deal him?

My guess is they've been in hardcore negotiations since the bye started and the deal was almost done when we cut a guy and had the roster at 52, although I can't imagine what the sticking point could have been, I guess we were offering a 7th and they were trying to rape us for a 5th. It would be pretty horrifying if we found out they just wanted a 6th all along and all we did was cost ourselves a few weeks while Ireland tried to work his magic.

sure you can tell mckinnie that...no problem...but you can't tell the defense not to stunt their lineman and use combo rushes to get guys clean looks cause our guys don't make proper switches or keep their heads on a swivel...

and of all weeks this is the perfect one to try and take advantage of mental errors given the fresh off the boat lineup insert...

Jesus why is it that our most invested area has to resort to two stopgaps in one season. We have plenty of cap room but we are just grabbing tackles that were no longer wanted .

any chance we could cut him? pretty please?

still pissed about this trade

we replaced clabo with... a fatter clabo.. insane

it's insane to judge a player on the dolphins before he plays 1 down for them. why not just wait, and hope he fails, then you guys can whine. or maybe you guys want the satisfaction of saying "I told you so" if he does suck. and if he doesn't, not take accountability of your negativity and false accusations?

I think this site is making a big mistake in thinking Martin is that much better than Clabo, he isn't. Remember, Suggs was taking turns 3 weeks ago and it really didn't matter who he lined up on and Clabo was only beaten by Mario Williams because he lined up on his side on that play. What do you think would have happened had Williams lined up on Martin? Tanny has 5 seconds HAHA? Considering Suggs had the same results regardless of Side I'm thinking Williams may have as well. Clabo is not the problem, Martin and Clabo are the problem.
