I have to say I think Martin dear I say OK compaired to Clabo. With him moving to the right side it allows for Miami to plan better at helping him. That's if Mckin can play average on the left. All we need is for ONE of them to play average. Just average Miami can help the other tackel. Like I said it is a little easier to play with 1 less than avergae tackle and win then it is to play with two.

Side note NE signed Andre Carter this week!!!!! that is not coincidence that they sind a speed rush end the week they are going off to play the struggeling tackels that Miami has. I just sure hope we have enough B**ls not to let a guy off the street make a play in this game and make Bell a Chick look like he is some god sent Vince Lombardi

I think it's more like what are the odds he doesn't start?

Unless he's damaged goods, it is absolutely 100%. There is nothing left to see from Clabo. They gave him a game after the bye to prove himself and that cost us another loss. An unprepared, overweight McKinnie is still a step up.

I think it's unlikely he starts but perhaps that's just my pessimism. This staff seems enamored with getting our QB killed.

Normally I would agree with you, but I have this feeling they've been given an ultimatum by Ross.

martin better play better on the right side...this player should be ascending...

his only ascension is when he gets picked up off the ground and driven into the qb. very disappointed in his progress or lack thereof. clabo has been so bad that martin hasnt taken as much heat as he should. what if clabo was solid and martin was the biggest problem. i wonder if ireland would have made some sort of move and benched martin. let's be honest, he hasnt been much better than clabo.

From what I've seen he has actually been considerably better than Clabo.

Here is the problem: Clabo is on a pace to shatter the record for most sacks allowed by a lineman since anyone bothered to start keeping track of it.

So that's just damning Jon Martin with the faintest praise, really.

if we were solid - hell if we were average - on the right side i wonder how many sacks martin would have given up because clabo's guy is not getting there first. also, defenses would likely treat martin as they have clabo and put their best pass rusher over him or send the pressurs from that side. im just sayin we need the kid to come through and so far we havent seen the progression we were hoping for. maybe he will be better on the right side but he still needs to get stronger.

Ireland and Philbin cant afford to not start McKinnie. But don't expect Martin to have much better success on the right side. He has been getting stood up on the left side just not as fast as Clabo has on the right side.

Yet another early draft pick that this regime has blown. Absolutely stunning how a team can miss so badly on 2-3 round picks.

The mistake here was in not trading for McKinnie just after the Ravens game, when he would've had two weeks to learn the system and perhaps could've started against Buffalo.

That would have made too much sense...

At this point you have to think that if it took Steve Ross reaming them out and demanding a move -- any move -- to even TRY to fix this crap, then Jeff is probably a goner in January.

Take a listen to the podcast of Joe Rose's interview with Brian Billick from this morning on WQAM. Billick thinks that a veteran like McKinnie can start this Sunday with no problem. Billick said it "would take about a day" for McKinnie to get what he needs to do. He knows what to do on a pass or run, he just needs to sort that out.

As for how good McKinnie would be, that is an entirely different question. Billick said that the Ravens know what they are doing, so take that for what it's worth if they let him go. However, Billick conceded that McKinnie might benefit from a change in scenery and get motivated.

It'll take 2 seconds for McKinnie to get acclimated to our offense. Go means pass and go-go means run, now get out there and do what you do Brian!!
