The Plan. Will it work? The Plan to return the Miami Dolphins to playoff contenders is begining it most critical stage. The team is getting ready to put on pads and try to put it all together.

Cam has transformed the Miami Dolphins. As the plan unfolded we saw the departure of some familiar faces, most of the on offense. The arrival of a high priced "attitude" on defense. We saw a passing in the draft of the "next sure thing" for an injured kick and punt returner and a "who" in the 2nd round as the future of the most scrutinized position in South Florida. The was stubborness and debate over the pick up of this seasons signal caller. The Offensive line was thrown into a blender and something "new" came out.

Recently all the pieces got together. Put on some helmets, shorts, and got to know each other. Yeah, they worked on stuff, and reports came in. This guy looked good, this guy is a beast. This guy looked fat, this guy is going to be a bust.

Now, the put on the pads and work on The Plan for real. I am an optimistic person. I think the veterans have seen enough changes to know that this isn't a rebuild year but a year where we did enought to contend. They will buy into The Plan, they have to not much time left.

Cam has who he wants where he wants. If the players buy into it, shouldn't we? My Odds that it will work.

The same as with any plan ever made. 50 - 50 Either it will or it won't

I must admit I have been impressed with what I have seen so far. We have upgraded the overall speed of this team. We have invested in a young 'QB of the future.' And we finally seem to be paying attention to the o-line. I hope and pray the plan works, and sooner rather than later.

I think the plan will work, and this why. 1.) Trent Green will be the most
accurate quarter back we have had since Marino. Maybe he's alittle old but
he still has something left in the tank.(for at least one year) 2) The draft,
Ted Gin Jr will bring excitement & speed the we have not had since the
Mark brothers.(just watch youtube on him and you will see) 3) John Beck

Let me finish. John Beck will be the future. Samson Setele will be the real
deal on the line (just read the coments from his old QB. 5) Booker will be
the Reggie Bush but for the fins. He's a flat out play maker like Gin. FSU

I am also impressed. I, like many, was at a friends house when the Ginn pick was made. I stopped there, just to see Miami pick, on my way out. I was left wondering "what the hell?" The when Beck was picked, I said "who"?
I always thought the Porter picks was at least exciting, if not kinda expensive. But, he brings more then just talent to an extremely talented front 7. He brings an attitude and emotion that hopefully will flow to the rest of the defense. I really think this is a key season for Channing to be the forgotten Line Backer and really have a good year. Consistency with keeping Capers was a sign to the veterans that this is not a rebuilding year.

Again, Ginn?!?!? Yeah, I had seen all the highlights. I admit I don't get to watch much College Football, but I keep up with it enough to know who he was. This kids will get 2 or 3 touchdowns this year, if he stay healthy in the return game alone. While Beck will hopefully be a non-factor this year, the more I read, and the videos I have seen, makes me believe he was the QB we all really want and in the end will be a solid pick.

With all the new faces and dimensions of our Offense, getting them coached up now that the pads are on will be cruicial. The O-line is critical, but everyone will be doing new things. Being on the same page and the same time will be the most trying times for this new group of players.

You can't help but think going against our Defense would give them a steep but effective learning curve. But, our offense had faced a pretty good defense every year in practice and it has not seemed to help.

Just can't help but get excited. Might as well, it is what it is, and right now we can all brag about how good we can be.

Were golden. Getting rid of Culpepper was worth 4 more wins in itself. The fact that we actually got a GOOD QB to replace him makes us a playoff team. If we get anything out of the rest of our changes we have a shot to win it all.

Did not use him well. He will be a nice suprise for us fans. 6) Cam & Houck
will get this oline where it needs to be. 7) This will be a great year for
Chambers,Booker, & Hegan. I see 2500 yds betwween them. 8) Our defense
will in the top agin with some healthy dbs. And watch out for this guy
Abrahm Wright 7th rounder who already looks like JT in mini camp

took the words out of my mouth, the green for culpepper move was an absokute gem in my mind and hopefully it pays off.

If you look at out early schedule it could give us alittle steam for the
rest the season if we can get some wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive always seen it as a decent QB made us a pretty good team(see Gus in 05). We were gonna win 2 or 3 games had Culpepper started all 16 last year. Harrington made us an 8-8 team if he had started all 16. Harrington sucks. Ive got a feeling that getting Green made us a possible 10 win team with that move alone. If Porter brings it, Ginn gives us some big plays(offense or ST), and this tinkered OL plays any better we are a serious contender for the whole thing so long as we dont suffer key long term injuries.

You really think Quinn was ever considered the "next sure thing"....not in the draft reports that I read about. Not in his actual play at ND...Quinn's biggest asset in this draft was his publicity agent who did a nice job. Unfortunately, his play didn't warrant all that attention.

Who ? I was very informed about Beck as were many of us who bothered to look past the first round of the draft. Those who weren't informed about him simply saw the QB class in this draft as 2-headed, but it certainly was not. Stanton, Edwards, Kolb and Beck were all, by play, as good as Quinn.

In case you didn't notice, BTW, Ginn practiced in the last minicamp without the vaunted "red practice jersey", so I guess he's not so injured as you seem to think.

I don't think you have given enough credit for what they (Cam-Mule) have done. Sure, the real thing starts in the next month or so and until then, it'll be hard to 'see' the plan, but it's there and being adjusted as time goes on. It's fine if you don't like the moves they've made (which you obviously pointed out), but your apathy, your half-hearted attempt at being positive surely didn't work...try again perhaps...

As for as Beck goes, I think he was as good of a pick as any in this draft. If anything he might have been the best pick over all. He truely was the most accurate qb in the draft and the most mature. His muturaity might be what puts him above the rest. Only time will tell, but after really researching the guy, he is a winner. And winners always find a way to win. Lets hope that when it becomes his turn to shine, he shines all over south florida and the Miami Dolphins fans.

When I said injured punt returner, that was what he was when he was drafted. No I did not know much about Beck before the draft. Unfortunately, I don't spend the time I would like on football so I don't spend hours trying to figure out much about the College Players. I admit, all I could think about before the draft was Brady Quinn. I bought into the hype. But when it all came to pass and all the picks were made, did some research and read opinions on this board and I have become very positive in my post concerning this Draft class. I think 3 years from now our draft class will rival the quality of any draft class this year.

I think Cam has moved who did not fit out. I think he went and got who he thinks will fit. Moved people around like a General before a big battle. Now he has 2 months to bring them together and execute his plan. I would say the odds of success, being an optimist, 85-90%, realistically either it will or it won't which is 50 50.
