Oden or Durant

I think i'd take Durant. I havent been able to watch Oden, just highlights and statlines. It would be hard to pass up a 7 footer with his potential though.

In the NBA you dont trade big for small so even if durrant puts up better numbers than Oden, id still take oden. Its a lot different when theres a big man in middle of the court. Thats why its very rare to see big men get traded or that teams let good big men go. The only small player thats been able to carry a team to multiple championships with almost no presence in the pain was michael Jordan. Id rather build my team around a big man than a small forward. Most winning teams have a good big man.

I live smack dab in the middle of Big Ten country, trust me, Oden is the real deal. The only reason his numbers arent phenomanol is because he has injured his shooting arm and is using his left hand. He is still averaging double figures.

I'd take Durant. He can do more, he can shoot, run, pass, great post moves, and is having a better season on top of that.

It's not like he is a small guy either! He is 6'9/6'10 thats still huge! It's not trading big for small if you take him. Its trading freakishly large for slightly less freakishly large!

Durant could end up being the better player. He sure looks like a phenom right now.
I still would have to take Oden. There are a lot of great forwards in the NBA, but very few centers. When choosing between the two, you can't overlook which position is more difficult to fill with great talent.

Oden has been playing the whole season with 1 hand!!! He's making around 63% for FTs with his left hand(which is his off hand).

I think u have to take Oden #1, but what position is Durant going to play in the NBA? SF i would guess. Both of the top 2 teams for the #1 pick have good SF(Gay and Pierce) and lack a good bigman, although thats not sayign you dont take someone because of that. Pierce can play SG also.

Oden is just simply taking over games and he has been playing with an injured hand! I think it would be a big mistake to pass up on Oden!

If you're the Boston Celtics.........imagine a future frontcourt of Greg Oden & Al Jefferson with Paul Pierce and guys loaded with potential like Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes, & Rajon Rondo.

If you're the Memphis Grizzlies and you trade Gasol, then Oden is obvious. You can still team up Gasol/Oden though. I honestly don't know how Durant and Rudy Gay would work. A young nucleus of Greg Oden, Rudy Gay, Pau Gasol or whichever young guys/picks they trade him for, sounds excellent.

If you're the Philadelphia 76ers......damn, may God bless your soul.

Nonetheless, you don't pass up on the potential David Robinson for the potential Tracy McGrady.

When two players are of similar talent and value and you're rebuilding, always THINK BIG..........

Dismissing Durant as just another shooter/SF type is a huge mistake. Tracy McGrady? Come on. Durant hits the boards a whole lot better than McGrady ever has. Think bigger.

With some work on his defense, he could be Kevin Garnett with a better jump shot. Or, he could be a more athletic version of Dirk Nowitzki. Either of those are completely legitimate comparisons. You know what? I'd be perfectly happy taking a guy like that #1.

Of course, I think Oden will probably go #1; scarcity at the C position seems to dictate such a move.

Durant hands down, total package player.
