... we all need to do one thing.

Don't get too excited by anyone we pick up.

Remember how excited everyone was for Wilson? or Wilford? We thought our problems would be solved.

Just a nice little, logical, reminder.

Yeah i bought the hype on Wilson, something i rarely do, and what a dud that guy is.

But it doesn't matter, because it's not like this team will do anything remotely noteworthy in free agency to improve their many weaknesses. They never do.

I have to disagree with that...Bess, Starks, and Wake to name a few.

I was impartial to the Wilson signing, and I absolutely hated the Wilford signing.

So what your telling me then is the signings of Grove, Wake, Bess, Polite, Carpenter, Berger, Smiley, Fields, Jones, Culver, Torbor, Taylor, and Starks really didn't help this team at all.

They may not have been the biggest signings but don't be stupid they most surely improved the bottom half of this roster and greatly improved the talent on this team.

Remember: Rome wasn't built in a day. There was only so much we could do the past two years with the draft and FA. I think most of you will be quite happy after this years FA and draft are over as to where the roster talent level has risen from just 2 years ago.

im sorry but the whole "rome wasn't buily in a day" saying is just :deadhorse:

we all understood that the dolphins weren't going the superbowl this year, but i know we all expected more out of them these last couple of weeks.

Well there's a reason the saying is brought up so much, it's true. So many people expected playoffs again this year. So many people expected 11-5 or 10-6. But no sir, that was not going to happen again this year. The people that didn't fall into the hype and figured we would take a step back record wise were right. We had an absolutely brutal schedule this year, and the things that happened this season aren't really all so surprising considering how young this team is.

In my opinion, to be in the playoff race two years in a row after going 1-15 is outstanding. We could be the Rams, you know, the team that we were all hoping would lose all their games like we were that same year. Compare us now.

Sorry, but where did I exactly say I was happy with the way the Fin's have played the last few weeks. I am very dissapointed in the way the Fin's played but there is nothing I can do about it.

My respone was to the OP thread that stated we should expect all of our FA signings to be busts because of the signings of Wilford and Wilson. I was merely pointing out that his point of view is totally lacking in both thoughtfulness and insight. Just the same as your reply was to mine.

With all of the fire Sparano and get rid of Parcells threads started each day on this forum I wouldn't be so sure about that.

I didn't say that at all.

Did I mention anyone other than those 2, therefore I wasn't calling anyone else a bust. But was Bess, Starks, or Cam someone who came in and we had big expectations of like Wilson? No. It's a different mentality completely.

It's like saying we sign Brandon Marshall and everyone thinks he will be the WR savior, and then he does terrible.

Which is whatever, but say we bring in some no-name and they do terrible, less will be thought of that.

Understand?

You can't call the front office out for making 2 or 3 bad F/A signinings and then just leave out all of the good ones for the sake of your arguement. You have to take them all into account. In your eyes they might not have been good or even mediocre signings when they happened, but to the FO they were exactly what this team needed.

That is what is really different with the philosophy of a NFL front office evaluating talent versus a fan. The front office puts as much time and research into signing all of the lesser known FA's, who most FANS think will be backups and special teams players, as we think we do evaluating the stars of the NFL. Case in point just look at what our front office as done. You youself said you didn't expect anything from those signings but look how they turned out. Sure teams need their star players they can count on to come up with big plays but you are fooling yourself if you think signing a couple big name stars and not worring about the bottom half of your roster will get you a championship.

Sometimes we have fans just have to realize that our FO has a way of going about things and we can't change that. Do you honestly think Ireland, Parcells, and Sparano sit in their offices each night thinking how great our WR's and LB's are and that we don't need to upgrade them. Hell no, the opportunity just hasn't presented itself yet but when it does you can be sure they will pounce.

atleast they put thought into their posts. you just repeat a dead saying.

Kind of like you using the "beating a dead horse" graphic over and over shows how much thought and originality you put into your posts.

...don't forget the Pennington signing too..
