Stupid is a highly subjective term. Also it's a moral judgment that we as human beings should not make. That same sorta thought process is behind that movie theater massacre in Colorado. Until we as a society stop thinking that certain segments of people are lesser than ourselves, we'll continue to see crazy acts of violence. Now I certainly don't mean to relate you to that incident, but you must realize that no matter what your occupation is, or how much money you make, stupidity is in us all. So don't be stupid and think you're not! There sure are some stupid players.
Yes, stupidity transcends income, but you have to remember these guys are in the spotlight. When they do well, we see it. When they do something stupid, we see it. Stupidity when it comes to DUIs is NOT subjective. 100% objectively, driving under the influence is stupid. This has nothing to do with classism, racism, or narcissism, whatever it is you're alluding to - if you DUI, I don't care who you are or how much you get paid. This is not a moral debate. It is a clear-cut, dangerous and stupid decision that puts others' lives in jeopardy. As human beings it's ABSOLUTELY a moral judgment we should make! Just maybe not as fans.Stupid is a highly subjective term. Also it's a moral judgment that we as human beings should not make. You don't get IT because you don't live IT. Understand that most of these athletes come from abysmal neighborhoods. These types of individuals once thrusted into the spotlight have a wide range of temptations on them that the average Joe simply can't relate to. And therein lies the problem, different upbringings tend to yield different challenges in life. Normal to you could be completely foreign to me. And the scrutiny that I might experience in the limelight might be too much for me to handle especially when I have so many people pulling me in so many directions. One could easily fall victim to peer pressure and gang activity when the support system is absent. Yes poverty can create rich monsters. Some would say Mike Vick is one. But guess what, suburbia can create them too. And you better believe hate does not discriminate.I like to seek to understand. But why does an NFL talent with millions, need to carry a gun and get in fights? I don't get it personally.
