Take it for what it is.

Thankfully, Alonso is getting a good early review in Miami. He was traded again this offseason along with cornerback Byron Maxwell.

"He's fast," Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi said, via the team's official site. "He can make plays. I'm not sure where everybody is playing this year, but I watched him when he was in Buffalo. He was a great player. We'll see what he can do for us this year."

We replaced two starters on defense and added a starting mlb.....we will add another projected defensive starter with our first pick (nkemdiche) that will help replace wake and Williams due to age in the future and we will pick a projected starting cb......with the addition of one offensive guard, one OT and a change of pace running back we will turn things around this season....great to hear he is getting good reviews

Fingers crossed with Kiko and his health....At this point This is for me is the big time "score or bust" of this off season ... I hope we stole one in Alonso.

But from reading the article truthfully hear of zip about his health of condition at present and going into camp..

"Getting Promising" from what Misi saying "he's fast and can make plays" from what he saw in Buffalo. If he was like he was in Buffalo the Eagles would not have let him go....

Misi added: "I've actually trained with Kiko a couple of times this offseason already. He seems like a good guy. Says nothing about Kiko's stage of health at this point....

Don't get me wrong I want and hope Kiko is going to be 100% but this Getting Promising from Misi statement tells us nothing to denote the level of success Kiko is having with his rehab...

I've been really pleased so far with this offseason. The big splashes are great sometimes but getting Williams, Maxwell and Alonso for what we did was a strong start to retooling this team.

Mwest, I think about Nkediche being added to this DL a lot myself but I really like Jordan Phillips talent so I keep leaning towards CB first. Problem is value might not be there so I could live with getting the RNk.

Also there is a reasonable shot at a good CB in the second rd. True maybe not top shelf but still good.....We have options even at 13...

Thanks for the reply...I too believe corner would be a great addition...and I wouldn't be upset at all with a corner at 13...BUT I will always want my front 7 to dictate the flow of the game...I want to put a fear in the opposing qb that starts with mentally distracting him and ends with physically abusing him...with that, I believe, the corner play will take care of itself

Good point, also the more the threat of a mean Front 7 the more pressure taken off the DB's and the need for that shut down CB, though I'd still love one.

The Maxwell-Alonso trade really did a lot for us. We all want 11 pro bowlers on the field at all time but that's just not possible. Last year I thought we lacked the meat and potatoes of the roster, your solid vets. We were hamstrung with the likes of Kelvin Sheppard, Dallas Thomas and Jamar Taylor, some of the worst starters in the NFL and losing Pouncey and James for such long stretches were unfortunate setbacks few teams could overcome.

I think we are in a great position to move down again, maybe to 17, 18, 21 or 22. 19 and 20 are unlikely as it's Buffalo and NYJ.

We need to snag another third round pick IMO and use that a long with our own third round pick to move up and secure a third starter out of this draft.

I take what Misi is saying with a grain of salt. He praising his teammate from what he knows about him. But nothing has happened since acquiring Alonso that means anything for next season. The dolphins still need to add another potential starting linebacker, or maybe two. B.J. Goodson and Deion Jones. The Dolphins first round pick will be a trickle down effect more so than I remember. This is the first time that I remember the Phins first pick has an equal chance to be from four different positions, RB, CB, DL and LB.

I do think the dolphins should consider Jaylon Smith somewhere in this draft, if the diagnosis that he will fully heal.

Nkemdiche? What.....no Dion Jordan in this draft?

Really interested in Kiko this year. If he is right, he will be the Mike we have been waiting on for the last five years.

It's funny bc if you read that article, it says nothing positive about him playing in 2016/2017.....

Here's to hoping he stays healthy. But some players seem more susceptible to injury after the first injury bug bite.
