So i was thinking all kinds of crazy things because there is no new news on anything. would you like to see a more offensive draft or a defensive draft. I myself would love to draft a full offensive attack on these fools. im sick of settling for field goals and punts. i want 2 see us move the ball with ease. granted i know that most likely wont happen with one draft but we can start now. GO OFFENSE :woot:

I'm sick of the 32nd best D in the NFL myself. Our O should be better and our ST's we have already taken care of apparently will help both. Our offense was fine till our HB's started dropping like flies and we really need more D IMO. We won't contend for nothing until the D is fixed and I say go D at the top of the draft and fill in the couple of holes on O with the exception of T which I want with our 2nd or 3rd pick because we already have a talented youth movement on O.

I simply look at our team needs. Our offense is not that bad, we just need to fill the holes on the o-line.

Our defense however is pretty bad. We need more defense than offense.

However, considering the weapons we have on offense, Ronnie, Ginn, Ricky, Booker, I'd like to see o-line be the number one priority so that these guys can flourish.

With the depth we have at running back, if we can build an elite o-line defenses will be hard pressed to stop our running attack the whole game. And of course that will open things up for Beck.

Why would we go heavy on defense when, at this point, we don't even have enough players signed to field an offense. We have what, six, players under contract and will need at least 9 so that we have a few backups. I'm talking the o-line here guys. Number 1 you can't compare last year to this, first of all, because half of that o-line is gone; think goodness! We will need at least 3 o-line taken in this draft and have them all turn out good just to get on the field. That is why I want Jake to be the first pick.

thats only if the o line can pass protect ;) only our major weakness for yrs esp last year it was disastrious

Oh I know, which is why I said "if we can build an elite o-line".

And hopefully steal a good blocking TE like Carlson.

The way I look at it is this. Our best young players are on the offensive side of the ball. Ginn, Beck, Satele, R Brown, Carey, L Booker etc (in no particular order).

We know this isn't going to be a one year rebuild. We also know it would be counterproductive to hurt the development of these young players on offense. Not doing well next season may hurt their confidence and stunt (or destroy) some of these guys' development. I've seen it happen many times in many sports over the years, including football.

This is why I see it as priority #1 to get the best left side we can get for the O-line. This will make the biggest impact for our team, and greatly benefit the future of our best young players.

These young players are ready to step forth and take the mantle as the leaders of this team. I say help em out by drafting Jake Long at #1 and a good guard like rachal or Greco in round 3/4 or so. All of a sudden we will see an impact like Cleveland had when they drafted Joe Thomas and shuffled their line to give them the best combination at each position (Like we will do by shuffling Carey back to RT where he has Pro-Bowl potential).

Cleveland's O-line made Braylon Edwards bust out, finally. He was seen as a bust before last year.. Their line made their tight end a much bigger threat.. Their line made Derek Anderson look like a Pro Bowler.. And their line made their creaky old has-been running back look good again........

It's a no brainer, we gotta go offense and finish the job there (helping out our youngsters on that side of the ball- help them fluorish)... Next season and the season after we put all our marbles on the defense and we will be contenders in 3 years with a very good team we can be very proud of.

We had a great defense for many years, and it led us to nowhere missing the playoffs year after year after year.. . The last time we were a perennial playoff team was when Richmond Webb and Sims/Dixon were on the left side and we had a good O-line. That is no coincidence....

D-fense. This is the best top heavy D-line draft in a long time. This is also the deepest o-line draft in a long time. Lets get our leader and maniac pass rusher and run stuffer with Chris and then get our T and then the best players available the rest of the draft. Problems solved and everyone wins.

defense is for younger guys offense needs experince so draft d get free agent offense
