As you most of you may have surmised by now is that I don’t really believe in McD play calling abilities. I’d like to see him relinquish it and hire a real talented play caller with experience, and concentrate being a HC.
For me, it doesn’t have to be someone on the NFL level presently, could be collegiate level but someone having success.
This is not about getting into arguments whether McD could do it or not, not looking for that. So move on from this thread, not looking for that debate

If he does decide to relinquish that responsibility, he probably will not I get that, but if he does, who do like out there?

You want a talented play caller with experience? Sure, no problem, plenty out there, haha.🤣

That would essentially mean getting someone with those credentials that are currently unemployed. No employed OC is going to move to the Fins for a lateral position.

Exception: Someone who is part of a coaching staff turnover and who will be unemployed in the next 3-4 weeks. I would suggest identifying which teams are going to be letting go of their coaches and look there.

With that said, it is all a moot point. NO WAY he relinquishes after 1 year. Not on a team that had been pretty frickin' good on offense.

Rider, I dig your fandom and knowledge of the game, I don’t know if you will end up being right but here’s where we are and this thread will probably stay alive for a while to either verify your theory or show you you are to premature and not taking the totality of what he’s done as a play caller into account.

So let’s really think about this, you’ve dug in deep and are not budging

The evidence you present for termination is MCD has run on 3rd and short too may times which indicates a fatal flaw to you..

If you knew we could be a top 10 scoring offense and top 5 yardage leader before the season started wouldn’t you think that was a hell of an accomplishment by a first year coach and first year play caller flaws and all?

He has told us that the boxes were flooded on the inordinate amount of 3rd and shorts the past three games where he passed, do you not believe in that excuse?

Bottom line if we go 11-6 to finish are you still going to be saying your out on him after his first year?
 
This is insane. If people can't see what McDaniel has done for Tua and this offense, then there is no hope for you. Are people forgetting what this offense looked like only one year ago? I can't believe so many people want to nitpick every freaking play. If you are not going to let McDaniel control the offense and call the game as he sees fit, what would be the point of keeping him as the head coach? Do you guys want to start over AGAIN?
