Offensive Cordinator

Although I disagree with you, I respectfully accpet your opinion. I don't think it's right though to say someone is not supporting the team because they are questioning why shotgun wasn't used.
Thank you, I appreciate the respect.

As to the question at hand, I agree with DW for not going with "shotgun" for the simple fact that the O Line is having enough problems as it is with simple pass blocking. Why throw in a silent count with shotgun to create more confusion which would lead to more penalties?

do you know how you get everybody on the line offsides except the center. If the center forgets the snap count then when the QB calls for the snap everybody is going to start moving except the center hence everybody offsides but the center.

That is something that they are going to need to work on this week is a silent count. When this team does something posative I'll be one of the first people to talk about it. Our D did a great job but I'm throwing suggestions out for our offense. Its not a question about not supporting the team. I'm not going to sit here about blow smoke like some people are doing by saying, oh they played a good game and they'll get better and blah blah blah....unless some things change we wont get better. You stick with what works not what doesnt work.

I'm not a big fan of Feeley or Jay. I was thinking about the game a little bit and wondering what we could have done different to give Feeley the chance that he needed.

Did anybody notice that Feeley didn't line up in shotgun very much if at all??? If your QB is not getting ample time wouldnt you line him up in shot gun to at least buy another second??
Read somewhere Miami did not use the shotgun because of AJ inexperience and it being in another team stadium. Silent count and all. They will use it this week.

All this long winded crap needs to be summed up as what we and the players all know.....
Our coaching staff SUX!
If we had a new coach this year we would not be in this predicament.

SELL THE TEAM WAYNE!
This Quote is best sell the team Wayne. It comes from the top, and Huzienga has already tried to ruin 2 pro franchises in South Florida. If you look at the last 4 years, with Huzienga not willing to give an O-Lineman a good signing bonus or anyone else for that matter, it's not a mystery to why our Offense sucks! Why did we get Feeley and bring back Jay, Wayne would have had to pay a hefty signing bonus to anyone else. Why did we not get Kreutz or John Tait, don't believe the PR that we were offering the same contracts, BS, Wayne would not step to the plate when it comes to signing bonus and guarenteed money. So we have an Offense that stinks and soon our defense will crukmble because we will not be able to keep our best players or sign anyone else great players because Wayne doesn't care about football, he cares about making as much money as possible. Greed and being Cheap have runied the dolphins!!:fire: :fire: :fire:

about the shutgun formation

Did anybody notice that Feeley didn't line up in shotgun very much if at all??? If your QB is not getting ample time wouldnt you line him up in shot gun to at least buy another second?? Also if you know that your line is just getting run through why wouldnt you call more screens?? Let you line let them go and start up field to block for your running back. Throw some freaking quick slants just to get the ball out or your QB's hands fast and let the reciever make some plays. I'm not sure that I ever really seen Gordon stay back and help block, why wouldnt you have an extra guy back there to pickup a loose linebacker or something??? I think as bad as the guys played this game was really poorly called.

My number one problem with the playcalling though by far is.....

Why in the world do they keed trying to send Gordon up the middle?? How about running him outside of the freaking line and letting him make his own moves. That is just starting to bug me to no end. :fire:
Well we didn´t used the shotgu formation in all the game, that was the plan of the game Dave tall this yesteday:

(On using the shotgun) – “We will use it. We will have it in this week. We used it in the first game against Tennessee, we just didn’t last night. A.J.’s first start on the road, getting in the shotgun, then you’re into using silent count and that’s a whole little package in itself because of the noise and being on the road, is the main reason. We do have it in and we will use it.â€Â

I am not saying that Dave was right or wrong ,. but they didnpt want to use this in the Bengals......

Oh...ok. So let's just go with the old worthless Wannstedt philosophy then, right? You gotta take chances.

Amen. Ill add that as long as the stadium stays sold out, he's happy to give us mediocre seasons, and not go the extra mile 4 the team.

wanny said they didnt use shotgun because of feeley's inexperience in the offense and silent counts because it was a road game. also, that we do have shotgun in the offense but we didn't have it in for this game. but it will be in the game plan vs the steelers. ive told you guys all along about how bad the offense was going to be with DW and chris foerster running the show. now you see what i was talking about

Dave is scared of using it because he doesn't know how to coach his offense to use it!:fire:

But how do you not just coach the shotgun starting from training camp?

"Hey, we don't need to work on throwing the ball yet because we are going to run a lot". I mean come on, that's not strange that shotgun hasn't been coached or practiced yet?

Lawrence said:
Worse? He already didn't have time to throw, and as a result was making bad judgments. At least he would have had a few more seconds with the shotgun. Anyways, my point was that he let's fear dictate his decisions.
Exactly!!! Wanny has always let FEAR dictate his decisions and that is unacceptable

It's the coach and staff's responsability to have the team prepared for all contingencies. For Wanny to concede that the line and Feeley (who have been in training camp since the beginning) were not prepared is self-incriminating. The fact that he intended to start Fiedler does not remove the necessity of having Feeley prepared for ALL duties required of an NFL QB. Other coaching staffs are able to get their entire rosters prepared. You're talking 53 - 60 guys. Expansion teams have been able to prepare a whole new team from scratch. There is no excuse for overlooking such a basic part of Offense as the shotgun. People who don't get their work done on time are often disorganized or short-sighted. It looks like he was just counting on Ricky and hates passing so much that now he has sabotaged the passing game with poor preparation.

Keep the game close and have a chance to win it in the end....almost worked.

You can take chances when you have a reasonable belief that you're going to be successful.....we had THREE BRAND NEW starters in the backfield with one week to prepare them. Something is going to have to take a backseat to actually learning some plays....Maybe this week they'll have time to "open up the playbook".....
