How bad are our guards. Losing Thomas sucked and now Smiley. Has anyone watched Ndukwe and Alleman, are they terrible? What are the positives and negatives of these guys.

All i gotta say is . . . pray for Chad P's health the next 4 weeks.

Looks like the running game did ok tho.

I am no OL expert but I can tell you right now we are in trouble. We have four guys on the OL that are playing at either average or subpar level and the fifth guy has a bad wheel.

This along with LB and DB are the areas the Fins need to really focus on this off season

What sucks is that we DID revamp our o-line, and its still behind in performance, and thats with all our guys healthy (except for Thomas) Smiley and Long were doing great, but having half a great O-line is still nothing to write home about

I mean Carey has been good also, solid . . . Satele has been ok . . . just we have struggled a bit at RG . . . but Nduke has filled in.

Losing Smiley hurts tho, but we gotta move on

Ah nevermind then, somehow I forgot about those two..

So the O-Line as individuals are doing alright , but not as an actual O-Line? (does that even make sense?)

They are so bad that whomever is the QB has a serious chance to turn into a shell shocked version of John Beck

I dunno, Chad Pennington knows how to escape a broken down pocket, even if he does it in slow motion

Long, Alleman, Satele, Ndukwe, Carrey. Look at the middle of our line. That's a big hole. We've to two good first round tackles but the middle is very weak. At least Chad will be able to see it comming. The coaches have got to come up with something that will work.

I'm curious if Al Johnson , former Dallas starter and recent signee, is healthy. He has veteran experience and might allow Satelee to move to guard. Sampson has been unimpressive this year at center and some have speculated a move to guard next season anyway.

The line held up well in terms of both pass blocking and run blocking today, so I wouldn't be overly worried for now.

One thing that does need to be cleaned up is penalty yardage.

Alleman being thrown in after Smiley I think did a really good job. He had no penalties and we were able to run the ball. It wasnt like Pennington was on his back all game or anything like that. I think Ndukwe needs to clean up his penalties.
