If there is already a thread on this sorry, but I did search and did not find one.

For the preseason games there were a few posters to go back and grade out our oline. Did anyone do it for this game? Yes I know it was horrible, I don't think anyone will ever argue that. I was just curious if it was only Wade Smith that was stinking up the place? Or were there more guilty parties?

Basically, do who do we have to fix to right this ship? Is McIntosh going to do it? Or do we have to make more changes?

yeah.. for someone with TIVO.. can you do a step by step report on what happened to the O-line? Also, can you offer your opinion on if its bad talent, bad judgement or bad coaching.. Thanks

you dont need tivo if you watched the game. they zoomed right into Wade Smith who was a whiffer, a lost soul, a guy who just was blocking air. nuff said.

I will get to it today. The one thing I did notice, was the Bengals were blitzing A LOT. Basically forcing AJ to dump the ball quick.

I don't know if you guys remember this, but during the offseason someone referenced the website miamidolphins.co.uk -there is a guy who posts there every week who lives in the Rockies (don't know why he posts on a British site and not ours!), he has Tivo and goes through the game. He hasn't posted yet this week, but usu gives a pretty accurate read
As for the Bengals blitzing a lot, unfortunately we can expect to see a lot more of that this season! coaches will look at that game type and play us exactly the same way

Expect to see that a lot this week...and next week...and the week after...the week after that...

Exactly. Until we burn the blitz with some long bombs... we will continue to see it.

That was not my question. I said "was it only Wade Smith" or the rest of the line too. EVERYONE knows how bad Smith played. I was more concerned about moving forward... if McIntosh will solve the problem or if it is much more than just the one player!?

i did Tivo the game but axed it because i got so pissed off after watching it like 3 times.... I will tell you this, though, about the line
Jeno James- did his job.. flat out a good pick up and he's nasty! i like this guy
St. Clair- is inconsistant but if he could tighten up his game he showed that he got the job done very well on some plays
Whitley- Got burned a couple times by Webster when it was his block to go after the LB... he really isn't that good of a lineman IMO ... he really struggles with pass pro but on run blocking he was overwhelmed
Seth- Was ok.. he is probably the 2nd best lineman that started Sunday... he held his own but they at some points had 3 guys shooting his gaps and he tried to take on what he could but Whitley was no help....
Smith- was complete and utter GARBAGE, the guy looked like he had no clue what so ever... there was points were it almost looked like he didn't want to block the DE, he would down block and then decide at the last minute to just put an arm on the DE... He is by far the worst lineman we have on that team... he cant pass block or run block.... he's a p*&^%... Flat out....

over all the line can improve.... St. Clair, James, & Seth are good lineman... they are nasty but they need to gel with each other... it seems like they really don't know what each other is doing... that cause alot of the problems... look for McIntosh to make an impact on the line this week....

Step by step review???....

McKinney snaps the ball, he, along with the four other OLman get thrown to the ground 2-3 yards in the backfield, and QB AJ Feeley gets buried in the process....

That's my step by step review. :shakeno:

As for OT D. McIntosh making a difference, we haven't even seen him play. For all we know, he could end up being worse than W. Smith....

PHINZ RULE!!!

The word is that they're worried about McIntosh's stamina but will throw him in at LT this week in practice and hope he can handle extensive playing time. The other position they're concerned with is RG (Whitley). They may promote Rex Hadnot this week in practice and see where he's at. I'm going to say this now, passing on Pete Kendall was absolutely stupid.

He is an upgrade from Wade big time!... and if you really watched the lineman.... their only issue besides Wade Smith sucking... was the fact that they just need to communicate better... on the plays where they did know what each other was doing the 4 other that Wade looked good... they can get it done if they gel & communicate... I think the average fan doesn't understand how huge that is for the linemen to know EXACTLY what each other are doing at what time.... they will improve with McIntosh

very much agreed... Kendall would have been a good piece of this line...

McKinney isn't calling out blocking assignments or I didn't see him doing it against Cinci. That hurt us and the new commers.
