I voted "unsure" but wish there was an option for "concerned" or "worried" because I do see some possible bright spots, but I have a lot of worry/concern about it. Tunsil isn't looking as good in pre-season as he did last year at LT, but I expect him to work out well once things are real. I've been pleasantly surprised with Jesse Davis ... who seems to still have all of his power but is starting to grasp the positional play better ... but he's still very much a work in progress. I like Steen more as a backup, and hope he doesn't start.
Asiata, for me, is the obvious starter at LG, and I can live with his growing pains. But, the fact the staff has not shown as much confidence in him as I have, that's beginning to concern me as well. I am happy to have Bushrod, who I think is a solid backup at every position except C. I put him into the same book as Urbik ... but I'd prefer neither start. Urbik has good strength and decent technique, but he's not exemplary in any way. Bushrod is a solid pass blocker, but a piss-poor run blocker. Both are backups.
Ju'Wuan James ... such an oddity. Lots of physical ability but sometimes we get the Dr. Jeckyl and other times we get the Mr. Hyde. Sometimes we see glimpses of the Hulk, other times we see an overmatched and timid Bruce Banner playing OL. If we could get the Hyde/Hulk at all times, he'd be a Pro-Bowler. But this inconsistency makes for an unreliable offensive line.
Then there is the perpetual tease of Mike Pouncey. When he plays, we look great! He is raising the level of his teammates! But ... he too often doesn't play. The most important ability is Dependability as Bill Parcells always used to say. Our OL is like a collection of randomly blinking Christmas lights ... a lot of flashes, but ultimately very poor illumination as a unit.
