I know this has been mentioned but it is worth another post. The o line is looking really good. If this continues that is one less thing to worry about going into next season as it is a young line. I must give due respect for Houck and the job he has done with this group.:)

Not enough can be said for the job that HH has done with the O line. This is pretty much the same bunch from last year that everyone including myself had given up on. HH has breathed new life into this bunch. It's amazing what some coaching can do. I can't wait to see what he does with players that he selects to be drafted.

Yup it is realy starting to look like the line may not be a problem as long as we can keep HH. What a differance one position coach can make.

I think we should only draft a late round project in the draft for some back up and youth. I think you shouldn't fix what is not broken and the line isn't even bending let alone breaking. We also have a veteran back up in McDougle and Alabi who has been impressive and was touted as the 2nd most athletic O-lineman in the draft next to Khalif Barnes.

Well remember, cohesion is one of the most important parts of an O-LINE. If we keep or kept throwing players at it then it will never be dominant. I wouldn't change anymore than 1 postion next year.

I agree, the o line is doing great. we still need to draft a guy though. I'm not positive how good our tackles are doing, but if we can nab a top tier guy, we should.

We still need a dominating Center. HH has done a remarkable job.

Move Hadnot to center and get LeCharles Bentley (whom Mueller drafted for NO) in FA. Say bye bye to McKinney.

Pardon me, but this line is mediocre

they many not be as embarassing as the line in past years. But don't kid yourself, against every team with a good front 7 we have not been able to dominate the line of scrimmage. People our record is 3 and 6, alot of that has come from out inability to dominate on every play the line of scrimmage. This is what saban is looking for. He does not want guys to run block only when they have 7 men in the box. He wants to be able to run the ball when they have 8 men in the box consistently, like the steelers or the broncos. We have an average line. It is better than last years, there has been improvement. But lets temper the enthusiasm. We need to provide Hudson Houck magnificent athletes that can employ his techniques to become a feared and dominating offensive line. If we do this we will win a super bowl. If we keep these rag-weeds we will not win a super bowl. Mark my words on that. I hope that Nick dedicates the next two years to drafting and signing offensive and defensive lineman. He needs to build a core foundation of young and mature football players. The game is one and lost at the line of scrimmage. If we lose games it is because more often than not, we lost the battle at the line of scrimmage.

What about the job that they did against Carolina? There front seven is pretty good.....I am not saying this line is great but considering that Brown is on pace for 1200 yards this year and Frerotte hasn't been sacked in two games I would say this line is doing pretty well. There is no need to "temper" enthusiasm for a position that was the worst in the league last year and is now probably middle of the pack now. The line is very young and will only get better with more reps. The line has been improving all season!!!

When we have lost games it hasn't been the line of scrimmage. Three of our losses have come because of turnovers(buffalo and Atlanta) and poor execution(new england). As a side note, we ran the ball very well against all three teams and still lost. Against New England and Atlanta we didn't give up a sack. Tell me how the line has cost us victories?

Draft a franchise LT with our 1st round pick!

I think we draft a dominant LT since this draft is so deep at that position. Its a position that has been killing us for years. Move McIntosh to RT and put Carey back inside. Move Hadnot to center and we are stacked. I still believe in putting the 5 best lineman on the field even if they aren't in their best suited spots. I think Carey could learn G fairly quickly.

I also think the line is playing well, lets hope we stocpile the Oline the same way we stockpiled the D line. I think Houck is a great teacher.
