When does the 6th round offer for Harrington expire ?

I'am sure that Saban made the offer to to Deriot with an expiration date.

If he did, it wasn't made public. If he pulls the offer, it just means we will have to wait until June 15th to sign Joey. I kinda hope they trade for him now so he can get time playing in the May mini camps.

When Harrington made it clear that he wants to come to Miami. And he was not going to even travel to Denver to meet with the Broncos. Harrington but Saban in the driver seat.

Saban can back Millen into a corner. Saban can make Millen trade Harrington before the draft for a 6th round or Saban can wait and sign him without compensation

I agree. If we are getting Harrington he better get in here now and start learning right away.Would be worth a sixth rounder for sure.

True, but it is much better to complete the trade now then to wait until June 15th. That is the difference between 6 extra weeks to learn the offense. Either way, it looks like Joey will eventually be a Miami Dolphin.

Millen is not going to do anything to make this easy, he is bitter over this whole situation. Even if he knows he has no other options he will do anything he can to get back at Harrington and the Dolphins because nothing is going his way and he has no control over it. IMO if there is anyway Millen could torpedo this whole Harrington / Miami idea he would.

If Millen waits till June and has to cut Harrington, then Millen will lose his job. I guess Millen has to find another trade partner before the draft

I think your thought process is wrong here, and here's why...If Millen torpedos the Harrington deal it will sit poorly with other potential FAs, future FAs and the current players if Millen is entertaining the idea of continuing to be the GM of the Lions and/or if he wants to acquire a GM job in the future...if he treats a player poorly now, that info will stay with him throughout his career. A future guy would look at that situation and think that Millen could do that to them at some point, since he did it to Joey...Given that, I still don't think it's in the best interest of the Lions organization to drag this thing out either.

Yeah there is a deadline, eventually the eggsalad that Saban is offering to Millen for Harrington will go bad.

I can't wait for this thing to be final. It'll give us a guy that wants to be here and a guy that potentially could be great value in further trading possibilities.

Hopefully Saban has Fedex'd the Dolphin's playbook to Joey so he can at least learn the terminology, plays, and our system...I also can't see Millen dragging things out to June just out of spite. Hopefully the deal can be finalized by the draft next week or shortly after.
