I've never released a full first round mock, because naturally i want to write everything i know about the player the teams draft needs and the value of the pick. Writing descriptions for teams i don't care about just isn't worth it. So for the sake of time, i will only list the player.
However I'll write about those beloved dolphins picks.
Round 1
Pick: 1 -- Detroit Lions - Matt Stafford
Pick: 2 -- St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith
Pick: 3 -- Kansas City Chiefs - Aaron Curry
Pick: 4 -- Seattle Seahawks - Eugene Monroe
Pick: 5 -- Cleveland Browns - Brian Orakpo
Pick: 6 -- Cincinnati Bengals - Andre Smith
Pick: 7 -- Oakland Raiders - Micheal Crabtree
Pick: 8 -- Jacksonville Jaguars - BJ Raji
Pick: 9 -- Green Bay Packers - Everette Brown
Pick: 10 -- San Francisco 49ers - Mark Sanchez
Pick: 11 -- Buffalo Bills - Micheal Oher
Pick: 12 -- Denver Broncos - Tyson Jackson
Pick: 13 -- Washington Redskins - Robert Ayers
Pick: 14 -- New Orleans Saints - Malcolm Jenkins
Pick: 15 -- Houston Texans - Jeremy Maclin
Pick: 16 -- San Diego Chargers - Rey Maulaluga
Pick: 17 -- New York Jets - Darius Heyward-Bey
Pick: 18 -- Denver Broncos (from CHI) - Brian Cushing
Pick: 19 -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Peria Jerry
Pick: 20 -- Detroit Lions (from DAL) - Eben Britton
Pick: 21 -- Philadelphia Eagles - Chris Wells
Pick: 22 -- Minnesota Vikings - Vontae Davis
Pick: 23 -- New England Patriots - Clay Matthews
Pick: 24 -- Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Pettigrew
Pick: 25 -- Miami Dolphins - Aaron Maybin - DE/OLB I've never had us taking him, I think teams will pass on some of these DE/OLB's because there is value in 2nd round. While i think we could also draft darius Butler here, or even Britt/Nicks the CB/WR value is good in second round. Maybin is arguably a top 10 pick, I think we pick him because he's the BPA, and if he could learn from Porter, he'd be very nasty. We could still sign Taylor to play opposite of Porter for 1 year 2 million.
Pick: 26 -- Baltimore Ravens - Darius Butler
Pick: 27 -- Indianapolis Colts - Evander Hood
Pick: 28 -- Buffalo Bills (from CAR, PHI) - Micheal Johnson
Pick: 29 -- New York Giants - Kenny Britt
Pick: 30 -- Tennessee Titans - Hakeem Nicks
Pick: 31 -- Arizona Cardinals - Knowshon Moreno
Pick: 32 -- Pittsburgh Steelers - Alex Mack
Pick: 44 -- Miami Dolphins (from WAS) - Brian Robiskie WR Ohio State, He's got the size we need, and one of best facets to his game is his route running. We need a crisp route runner with a big body that can help Pennington move the chains. He also has good run after catch ability, something we've really been lacking. I wouldn't be suprised if Percy Harvin or even Britt/Nicks are here, Britt would be the best option, and I'm gaining steam on him being our 1st rounder.
Pick: 56 -- Miami Dolphins - DJ Moore - CB - Vanderbilt He's undersized yeah i know. However this guy can learn from will allen and be our future man coverage guy. Lots of talent and ball skills, plus he could be our PR/KR if Ginn stinks at it still.
Pick: 87 -- Miami Dolphins - Marcus Freeman - ILB - Ohio State I'M NOT A BUCKEYE FAN, however both picks from OSU have been of good value. OSU always has good talent, hopefully we can help there guys win championships. However, Freeman next to Crowder would be huge. Ayodele is a solid situational ILB, especially on running plays. However with Crowder's knee concerns it would be smart to have some insurance policy that can play STeams.
Pick: 108 -- Miami Dolphins (from OAK) Shawn Nelson TE So Miss, big bodied blocker, but an athlete that can get downfield like Martin does. He'd help out the running game, and would be a solid redzone target for Pennington and even better for Henne in a few years.
Pick: 161 -- Miami Dolphins Chris Baker NT Hampton - Has some character concerns, and troubled past. But being reunited with Langford and a bunch of Jersey boys running the organization, he should learn "Hey, do ya job." He's got alot of talent, i wouldn't be suprised if he was taken in a round earlier. I still think Soliai is the NT, even if we drafted Brace, he is WAY overratted
Pick: 181 -- Miami Dolphins (from OAK) Joel Bell OT Furman, Massive 6'7 frame, could compete as no.1 backup LT or RT. From a small school, he's quite the project, but has great attitude and size to play in the NFL.
Pick: 214 -- Miami Dolphins (from CLE) Don Carey CB Norfolk State - Lots of workouts, and all kinds of intangibles, like leadership, work ethic, and even recovery speed make this kid another interesting small school project from the Chesapeake region.
Pick: 237 -- Miami Dolphins (from CAR) Mike Teel QB Rutgers He's gaining steam so he might be taken earlier in 7th round. Tom Brandstater, Brian Hoyer and Graham Harrell could be solid options to compete with Beck for no.3 spot. Hopefully someone will prefer Beck over the second-third tier QB's in rounds 3-6 and want to give up a 5th or 6th rounder for Beck. I'd lvoe to pickup another OLmen or backup S taken.
