Official: Feeley sucks.

You try playing behind that O-line, you'd have more than happy feet, you'd have full trousers.

Did Frerrote have happy feet?

I gotta say that, in terms of pass protection, I don't think the offensive line was that bad last week.

I'm simply giving him a fair shake in this. You guys are bird-dogging him for any slight look of a mistake. He is going to make mistake. Every player makes mistakes.

Yes, from the snap of the ball to Brown hitting his arm was around 3 sec.

So now your calling me a liar?

How asinine can you get on this? The ball was sitting between the 10 & 11. It was a 7 step drop, which when AJ put his right foot down to stopped his momentum backwards it was on the 2/3 yard line. As soon as that happened, Brown was running free. AJ had to step up to avoid him & then Urlacher was right there to take him down.

Not just when the F was he suppose to unload?

I'm talking about some play in the 4th Qtr. What other play have we been discussing? As for the TE being opened. Kinda hard for a TE to be open when there was not a TE in the game. 3 WR set & 2 backs.

Just admit you are extremely biased on AJ and forget this.

I wish you had glasses also. Maybe even a watch. I know AJ has things he needs to improve on, but focus on those & simply stop making stuff up, like he had time to get a decent pass off with less than 3 secs.

Funny how you choose in favor of, instead of against.

Just another example of your errors.

In a 3 step drop you are correct. A 7 step drop. Ain't gonna happen.

Oh, now its not the play, its the whole package. Again I do not deny AJ needs to improve. Let him develop.

Yeap, & had AJ tried to make the throw & his arm got hit in the process, and the ball gets picked off and returned for a TD. Then what do you say.

The sorry sack of cowdung should have tucked the ball in and taken the sack.

You are very biased against AJ & you are bird dogging him. You are trying to find every mistake he makes.

No player can hold up under that.

just to drive home your point....there is a video of that play in another thread....it starts as the ball is snapped so there is a built in timer for the play.....he was hit by URLACHER in less than 3 seconds...

The whole arugment that AJ was somehow at fault is BLOWN out of the water.
NO QB is going to make a play fake, a 5 step drop, step up to avoid the rush, go through his progressions and get the ball out in the time he had before Urlacher tried to take his head off ....there isn't a QB on this planet that was not going to be sacked on that play.

Classic misunderstand/overreact thread. One quarter does not a player make.

I thought A.J. did pretty well. He didn't turn it over. He didn't make bad throws. He didn't force anything. He threw a GREAT pass with a man in his face to Thompson on 3rd and long between three defenders only to have Thompson drop it (Derrius is in regular season form already).

He still locked onto his receivers. I don't know if that's unfamiliarity with the offense or just a flaw in his game. It happened last year as well. But we know all about that.

The talk is of the Urlacher play. But there was really nowhere for him to go. He did the right thing taking the sack.

Gus looked pretty good. He's got a two year headstart in the offense. And it showed. He knows where everyone's supposed to be and what to expect. None of the other QBs have that advantage yet.

Frerotte was facing the 1st team, and almost scored a TD to Diamond between three defenders. The TD drive came against the second team.

Right now it's Frerotte based on familiarity and experience. He'll get the start Saturday. We'll see what happens.

Well put Muck.... you and others similar to what you have said are the voice of reason around here.

i can't believe that somebody who is fighting for a starting job left the game with an f'ing arse bruise. does he really want to start?

Feeley left because he couldn't get his shoe back on. We were in the endzone and he was right in front of us struggling to get it back on. Then the medics came out and he was pulled. My brother was behind the Fins bench and he said A.J. was telling anybody who would listen that he wanted to be put back in. I think the butt bruise thing was just the excuse they used.

AJ was getting blitzed constantly, that sure was no "vanilla" defense the Bears were using. Things chilled out after AJ got hurt because I think Coach Smith realised he had gone a little too far for a preseason game.

AJ Feeley is on his 6th year in the league. HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE FRICKIN EXPERINCED BY NOW! I am so sick of hearing that he needs experience, he needs time..
There is a difference between experience & game experience.

A this is his 5th yr this year, B) experience you get with playing and he had14 games total in teh NFL and 8 in college. Madden who isnt a fin fan said basically why he feels Gus will start is because AJ simply hasnt played and seen enough, he is inexperienced. Said it in teh Monday nite HOF game. Fact is you cant get experience simply being in teh league. pennington sat for 2 + years and still had growing pains. Brady contrary to many belief was not this qb in 2001, he was on a leash, no audibles, no long drops, quick safe passes. Sorry you want instant results, but it wasnt gonna happen in our system last year. And 7 pass attempts isnt anywhere near enough to judge what eh will do this year.

I would just like to reiterate that AJ Feeley still sucks. Yes this is official.

Nothing has changed, people.

I guess the Finz boards wouldnt be complete w/o a resseructed Feeley suxs Thread next to the Ferotte is Horrible...

And Wes Welker is actually bigger than RW.

Seriously though.. Feeley looks like a skinny immobile rock in the pocket. He locks down on his recievers and doesn't check down often enough..

Memo to AJ Feeley: STEP UP IN THE POCKET. You can try a sidestep or two if you want to be brave.

Random thought of the day: AJ Feeley needs an cement butt implant and hightops.

I now this is only the first preseason game guys and it IS August but still, I didn't see one shade of improvement (IN AJ) from last year.

:ri:

oops should read teh date of teh post. Not a new thread.

the gusketeers know their guy sucked so all the can do is bash AJ.
he had a decent game. but they dont care. he still sucks. but the bums wont admit that gus sucks too.

give sage a chance.

Well, you should take my word on it as I know more about it than you. :)

'It's very disappointing,'' said coach Nick Saban, who used the phrase yet again before announcing that the quarterback competition that was seemingly over has been resurrected.

''I don't want to have a quarterback controversy but I want every guy to know he has an opportunity to be the quarterback if he does a good job,'' he said. ``Someone has to take the bull by the horns and make things happen and be the leader. And I'm not sure that has happened yet.''

The only thing that is "Official", is that the QB competition is wide open again.
