Official: Feeley sucks.

Ladies and Gentlemen, its early, and I am excited about this year. We are going to be going through growing pains, but lets all hang on for the long haul......

Feeley looked like the same Puss he was last year.

Brock was very impressive and may have a future in this league if he can continue to step it up, but Ferotte is a man that exudes confidence out there. Brock and Ferotte had the "eye of the tiger", and Feeley had the eye of a deer in the headlights!!!

I don't know about that, But he definately needs a new hat. That foolish looking visor he was wearing just looks stoopid.

I was thinking the same way but he may be trying to land a roll in a upcoming movie called "the fashion world of a qb" was he by anchance drinking because he sounded like he had a couple of beers?

Classic misunderstand/overreact thread. One quarter does not a player make.

I thought A.J. did pretty well. He didn't turn it over. He didn't make bad throws. He didn't force anything. He threw a GREAT pass with a man in his face to Thompson on 3rd and long between three defenders only to have Thompson drop it (Derrius is in regular season form already).

He still locked onto his receivers. I don't know if that's unfamiliarity with the offense or just a flaw in his game. It happened last year as well. But we know all about that.

The talk is of the Urlacher play. But there was really nowhere for him to go. He did the right thing taking the sack.

Gus looked pretty good. He's got a two year headstart in the offense. And it showed. He knows where everyone's supposed to be and what to expect. None of the other QBs have that advantage yet.

Frerotte was facing the 1st team, and almost scored a TD to Diamond between three defenders. The TD drive came against the second team.

Right now it's Frerotte based on familiarity and experience. He'll get the start Saturday. We'll see what happens.

Thank you Muck for a moment of sanity amongst an evening of complete insanity.

I am amazed there are so many ppl on this MBoard that can make such broad reaching decisions based on one pre-season game. Shoot not even a full pre-season game at that!

I'll type it again, that is impressive!

If Derrius had caught that one pass there would be a LOT of Feeley praise.

Absolutely ridiculous thread for 1 quarter of play in which he didnt look bad in. He was 4-7, with 1 pass going right through a receivers hands, and he did step up in the pocket (also known as getting nailed and having to come out of the game on the play). He also took a sack instead of throwing the ball up for a possible interception or making some boneheaded play with the ball. Ferrotte also took a sack. I would much rather take a sack that lose a fumble, or worse yet, have an interception returned for a touchdown, as we have had problems with the last 2 years.

1 game guys, Feeley haters lay down and let the QB's compete and may the best man win, who-ever that is that gives this team the best chance to win. But 1 quarter, come on...

You can't read too much into the game, it's just a preseason. You almost want players to mess up now so they get it out of their systems. It's better now so they can fix it than too late.

This is just ridiculous. I can't believe that people are actually starting this stuff after the first pre-season game. I think all the QB's played well tonight. I think Gus's experience in the system showed, but I thought A.J done a fine job as well. The pass he threw to Thompson was right in there between three defenders like Muck said. I can tell now we are in for a long season on here.

It's a gift that apparently many people have.

Can't wait for the "improvement" threads after we start gameplanning a little for these games.

Feeley's performance.

Play:

  1. Ogunleye offsides and sacks Feeley. No play.
  2. very nice pass to Marty Booker coming back to the ball. 20yds in the air. accurate. appears to only have looked to Booker.
  3. Handoff to Gordon
  4. Handoff to Gordon
  5. Shotgun 3rd-7. Very nice pass down the middle to DT who drops the pass. 30yds in the air. Just a hair high, and a slight wobble in the spiral but very easily catchable. Feeley appeared to look only to Thompson...too bad, because Chambers had beaten his man (21) and would have had a TD. Booker had about 5 yards on his guy too.
  6. Phins punt, Chicago drives the field and scores.
  7. Feeley under Center, good protection from the line, pass hits Marty Booker on the move. 20 yds in the air...gain of 16. Again a very well thrown ball. Very good velocity, much tighter spiral. Slight playaction move and Feeley looked for an instant to the center of the field before firing to Booker on the left side. nobody else appeared to be open.
  8. Handoff to Williams
  9. Feeley under Center. Incomplete pass intended for Chambers. bad decision as Chambers appeared to be doubled. Feeley stared a hole through Chambers jersey before throwing. Looked like the WR on the right was open. Might have been Bryan Gilmore.
  10. Shotgun. Corner blitz not picked up and Nathan Vasher comes through untouched. Feeley throws the ball into the Line (looked like it hit Carey)
  11. Phins punt, Bears drive and punt.
  12. Feeley under Center. Decent protection. Short out to Donald Lee. Ball has nice touch. Placed well. Feeley appeared to be staring more to the center of the Field before coming back to Lee.
  13. Handoff to Williams
  14. Shotgun. Swing pass to Ricky Williams in the flat. Nice touch. Feely looked to his WR and/or TE on the right before looking over to Ricky. Well placed ball.
  15. Phins punt, Bears drive and punt.
  16. Feeley under Center. Drops back. Looks only to the right before getting hammered by Urlacher.
  17. Feeley's day is over.
Feeley really didnt do bad. Very accurate throws and he is developing a nice touch on the shorter balls. he still stares down his receiver...especially on the deep ball, but he seems to check off on the shorter stuff. At least he doesnt do it ALL the time now.
Gus played better tonight, but Feeley really doesnt have anything to be ashamed of.

dont you think we played a bit of an imbarrasing game? rushing was auful did we even have a pass rush for most of the game?
