Official: Feeley sucks.

Oh for Christ's sake people it's the first pre-season game, lighten up.:shakeno:

He did throw to the wide open WR, and it was DROPPED.

Seriously dude, did you watch the game?
:shakeno:

What game?

BTW that was a nice throw. Did you know Thompson was the primary receiver on that play? I bet you didnt!!!

And Wes Welker is actually bigger than RW.

Seriously though.. Feeley looks like a skinny immobile rock in the pocket. He locks down on his recievers and doesn't check down often enough..

Memo to AJ Feeley: STEP UP IN THE POCKET. You can try a sidestep or two if you want to be brave.

Random thought of the day: AJ Feeley needs an cement butt implant and hightops.

I now this is only the first preseason game guys and it IS August but still, I didn't see one shade of improvement (IN AJ) from last year.

:ri:

GUS will start... Feeley can NOT handle a blitz, he gets nervous has all hell when the rush is on and makes the big mistake....

Feely doesn't appear to have the pocket presence that Frerotte has. That being said i said let the competition continue.

Yeap, Gus's pocket presence looked really good on the pass to CC. Never seen Briggs coming right at him.

He did step up in the pocket - after a lineman almost ripped his arm off. No awareness of the pocket around him. Feeley had enough time to get rid of the ball on that play before Urlacher got to him.
Easy to say sitting safely on a sofa.

I guess AJ did have time considering the man came in unblocked. That must have slowed him down what .01 sec?

How dare AJ not get rid of the ball on a play like that. Some people. :shakeno:

This thread is inane. While I'm not saying he should start, Feeley looked fine out there, especially considering the heavy pressure the bears were applying and the lack of protection. He would have led them to a score on the 1st string D if DT could catch the ball. That was a great pass, just over the defender.

We didn't make the adjustments to the blitz until Gus was in there. All the play calls with AJ were downfield passes. By the time Gus came in, we realized the rush was too heavy and switched to essentially 1 step and release plays to put the ball in the hands of the WR's.

QB was not our main problem at any time last night. Now CB, O-line, and RB...

I agree that Rickey looked SKINNY!!! I'm not expecting a lot from him right now.

I agree, but Feeley doesn't have the experience that Gus does either. AJ needs to get some work in. And I really liked the throws he made. We need to see if that presence develops. He also needs some help with his footwork. Based on our line play, I would think it behooves us to have both QB's ready.

I thought Gus did slightly better but it was only because of his knowledge of the offense.
when AJ has more experience, he'll be much better than Gus.

The only thing that sucked, is the first post in this thread.

If Aj doesn't win the starting job, I don't know if he'll get the experience. I think Gus did better than Aj because he looks calmer in the pocket, and it seems that he has a much better "feel" for the game. Aj did not impress me, and has not since he was traded to the Phins. Experience maybe his problem, and earlier in his career a season or two in NFL Europe would've helped him out tremendously. With that said if he doesn't show anything this year he's not gonna get another opportunity to be a starting Qb, IMO.

Rosenfels has been in this system as long a Feeley and he also looked much more comfortable. Berlin too. Geez. We'll have to see if Frerotte is as jumpy starting against Jax as Feeley was last night. From what everybody saw last night, I don't see that happening.

1) Rosenfels played against 3rd stringers that wern't blitzing every down.

2) Berlin....4th stringers and still threw a pic

3) It's alot easier to feel comfortable at shotgun against 2nd stringers that wern't blitzing all the dang time. That jumpyness that AJ shows may just be him. Heck, Payton Manning looks jumpy all the time, it's just how he is.
