Official Giants-Panthers game thread

The Giants are just getting their buts kicked today. But hey, did you guys see that commercials with the burger king guy hugging Don Shula? That was the most entertaining thing i saw all day....

:rocker: best one yet

Amazing how teams that fall behind just 7-0 seem to implode.

Eli Manning will be a great QB in the future, but he just wasn't ready for this. It's still not "over" yet, but the momentum/tendencies of this game don't tend to tell me the tide will turn.

God, I love seeing Eli Manning suck. Warms my heart when little tools like him don't succeed.

Why? Is there any reason in the world you dislike him? Any good reason, I should say?

He's going to be an amazing QB in a few years. That he's struggling in his first playoff game ever? Not surprising. Peyton lost his first too at home.

On the Shockey play, Down by contact? Another game changing bad call by the refs. They have been awful all season.

Every season the fans go "this is the worst the officials have been". and they're never right.

didn't change anything either. Giants punted.

I should clarify that I am not talking about his quarterback ability at all. I'm talking about him being a great big John Deerr-sized tool.

And the reasons he is full of toolage are many... start with the embarassingly petulant draft day performance. Continue with his pre-draft toolness and his subsequent press conference toolosity.

so, provided Carolina doesn't meltdown in the meadowlands (which i've seen numerous times by "OTHER" teams before). I will be 2-1 on my playoff picks this weekend...if only i hadn't picked against Gibbs, damnit!, and provided Pittsburgh wins i'll be in pretty good shape :)

Welp, whatever, but enjoy it while it lasts. Eli is going to be a premiere QB and you better enjoy his miscues while you can.

intercepted....that was the worst interception return i've ever seen....the guy fell down like 8 times and lost 15 yards of field position reversing his field because he couldn't get up.

Welcome to the playoffs Eli...

Yep. This is really why the Giants needed a strong running game today. Eli just couldn't handle the pressure today.

He'll be back. Common tendency for young QBs to try to think they have to make up the entire game on one play and then throw a silly pass across the field.

I thought this would be a good game :shakeno:

Oh, I will. I've already enjoyed it for a long time. And, personally, I think I'll get to enjoy it for longer than you think.

You probably believe that since he is in his second year (first full) and still struggling, and nowadays in the NFL, QBs are considered by most in the media and the public to have reached the peak of their potential after 2 years (which of course, is a fallacy).

No, actually, that's not why I believe, the opposite actually. I think he still has a ways to develop. I think he will be less than stellar for a while still.

I also don't think he was ever going to be as good as his brother... which he almost has to be to justify what the Giants paid for him.
