I agree that the way Jones and Herbert throw and play the game are completely different. I just question if they might have similarities in career path.

I also realize that Herbert’s success has nothing to do with diminishing Tua. It’s just all of the experts seemed to agree on Herbert’s shortcomings and low and behold they’ve disappeared? It just seems like a possible Cinderella situation and midnight is looming. Perhaps I’m wrong but people can become skeptical when 180’s happen without cause or reason.

The coaches revamped his foot work and throwing mechanics, nobody thought he would get better lol and I guess the argument of the Oregon system being horrible for showcasing his talents seem valid so far. I had Justin low on my draft board, I thought his pocket feel sucked and he had a slow trigger on down the field throws and yet his two worst traits in college are his best traits in the Pro's. We all got Herbert wrong and I have no problem admitting it.

Some people just want to diminish Herbert simply because they can’t accept he just might be an excellent NFL QB. That certainly doesn’t mean Tua won’t also be an excellent NFL QB. While I am happy the Dolphins drafted Tua I would not have been one of those fans who would have been upset if the Dolphins had drafted Hubert instead of Tua.

The 1983 draft had 3 QB’s drafted who eventually were good enough to be elected to the HOF. While Elway was the only one of these QB’s to lead his team to a SB win, both Marino and Kelly were able to lead their teams to the SB. Perhaps in the future the three QB’s taken in the top 6 of the 2020 draft will have similar careers to these HOF quarterbacks.

I get depressed seeing Cleveland having BOTH Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb.

Real indictment on Baker Mayfield that they're not better.

herbert has more physical tools and upside than daniel jones imo...nothing about jones stands out to me that says hes a long term qb in this league and the giants still dont know where with herbert, even tho in a small sample size, shows to have enough to where i think the organization thinks he will be a charger for many years at this point, his team has lost like 6 games by 7 or less i think i read the other day so hes keeping them competitive while making expected rookie mistakes, how many of them contributed to the losses idk...

daniel jones is gonna be a qb who sticks around on a bad giants team throwing like 15tds/12ints a year kinda stats then fizzles out after a couple years of the team justifying the high draft pick they used on him and wasting barkleys golden years...i think darnold and trubisky are the same type of thing...i think alot of players are put in bad situations by rotating front offices and staffs though too and some guys need more time to adjust and being on a bad team doesnt help the game slow down when nobody can block and the coach gets fired after 3 crap years and then the new coach and gm draft their own guy, sometimes the player just isnt good though too...

theres several teams that are guilty of being awful places for young qbs to land, sometimes a consistently bad team with no vision, a toxic losing environment and overall poor talent outweighs anything any qb will be able to do

i think herberts situation is better than the 3 guys i mentioned above, but just on a talent level alone id take herbert over all 3 of them anyway, but i dont think if he was on those 3 teams he wouldve had as much early success as he has
Herbert has the worst OL out of the 3( yes even worse than Cincy) and worst wr talent as a group (Cincy has the best) out of the 3 also if Preston is healthy.

I'm watching this game (fantasy interests). That Browns offense is not good and neither is Mayfield IMO

Exactly we can also have a Rivers, Manning and Big Ben situation, no need to downplay or degrade an epic rookie season to try to elevate our own Qb, two things can be right at the same time they both can be great.

How bad was he? I was curious how he'd do as a play by play
I'm not watching the game; I just catch snippets on Red Zone. He's color though, not PbP.

I couldn't tell you if he's doing a good job. He just sounds like a country bumpkin, and I would be annoyed hearing that all game.

Anyone else hear Swift's F bomb?
