Official: MESSAM OFFICIALLY SIGNS WITH DOLPHINS

Jerome Messam is now a member of the Miami Dolphins.

A CFL source requesting anonymity said the Edmonton Eskimos tailback signed a multi-year contract with the NFL's Miami Dolphins on Tuesday.


Financial details of the three-year deal -- including any potential signing bonus -- weren't immediately available. But the NFL rookie minimum salary in 2012 will be US$390,000, which is significantly more than what Messam would make this season in Edmonton.

Hilliard and DT could not punch it in from the 2 most of the time. If he can make 2 yards in obvious run(3rd and short or goal line) situations, he will be useful.

I don't see how Messam does not make the Dolphins. The only two situations I see is Miami signing Grant or another FA RB or them drafting another RB. I mean what is his real competition Lex Hilliard & Richard Medlin. Hilliard might not return & Medlin is an unknown commodity.

I think this signing will speak wonders about how Daniel Thomas handles competition & pressure. Im a big fan of the CFL, love watching their games and Messam has the toughness, grittiness & mean streak Thomas lacks. So if Thomas fails to produce this year in goal line situations again, Messam could easily find a spot on this team.

Guys don't forget we also signed Marcus Thigpen, the only player in the entire CFL history to ever scored TDs in 5 different ways:Kick off return,punt return, blocked field return, running and receiving. I tell you this guy is amazin with the ball in his hands.

I've never heard of Medlin, until now and earlier today when I saw they put him on our roster in the final Madden roster update (along with Chris Hogan, Vince Agnew, Jonathon Freeny, and Isaako Aaitui)
