By Greg Cote...

22. MIAMI DOLPHINS: CHARLES HARRIS, LB, MISSOURI

Harris is a safer choice as an outside linebacker who also can adapt smoothly to pass-rush end role. Todd McShay calls him the draft's best pure OLB and he may not last, but I think there's a chance he could fall to the Fins

I don't put much stock in mock drafts, but thought this one was quite interesting - the Herald nearly always has the inside scoop

No thanks. Straight up detriment vs the run with very poor read & react which may relegate him to a passing specialist which is not worthy of an early selection.

if we dont get barrnett harris is the one i want. he can take over for wake when he is done.

Armando also just wrote:

The team is hopeful, perhaps even confident, that either Harris or Tennessee defensive end Derek Barnett -- both of whom I reported days ago the Dolphins covet as their first-round selections -- will be available at No. 22.

I doubt Barnett will be there. He may not be the prototype edge defender 4-3 teams want, but because edge rushers are so valuable, I simply don’t see the second-best player projected there behind Myles Garrett lasting into the bottom third of the first round.

Wow, you either really like Harris or you don't I guess. I know he's not perfect but plays hard and plays faster than his 40 time and it's not just around the corner. I've seen him go inside too and get the sack. A dynamic rusher is not easy to find. I guess time will tell

My comment was directed towards a selection at #22. I don't want a limited down and limited impact player in the first. Even in the 2nd at #54 I want a 3 down player in the early rounds.

I totally understand. Drafting a part time player is not what I would normally want at 22. It all depends on who's on the board when we're on the clock. I just don't want to get shout out of a pass rusher this year just like we've done in the past with LB and TE

You might as well take Ejuan Price in the late rounds if you want a high motor speed edge guy who doesn't care about where the football is and just wants to beat his blocker.

Could be able to be coached up on the run game stuff (Tech and Motivation). But if utilized properly, with his pass rush, certainly worthy of a first round pick.

Last time I checked, it's pretty important to be really good at generating quick pressure, this kid brings that.

Not a fan of Harris at all... Barnett is good and I really like Willis and McKinley alot more then harris. Carl Lawson is also much more impressive then Harris

Lots of eye-rolling regardless of the pick, but after reaches for high upside/low work ethic types like Dion Jordan and Jordan Phillips, or guys with questionable dedication and durability, like Devante Parker, I'll take the high-energy, productivity guy like Charles Harris any day.
