Supplemental Draft

Brain Soi - Utah State, worked out at Timpview High School in Provo, Utah today for coaches and scouts from the Dolphins, Falcons, Bucaneers, Vikings, and Raiders. According to his brother Pati Soi they were all very impressed. He measured at 6' 2 3/4" and 331 lbs. He ran his 40 times in 4.92 and 4.96. He had 41 reps with 225lbs, 38 inch vertical and 8 foot 11 inch broad jump. He also did various pass rushing drills numerous times and even gave one of the Falcons reps a fourarm shiver and sent hime flying to the ground. In the middle of one of his drills he puked and rinsed his mouth out and went back to work. This guy is an animal. He only had two weeks to prepare for the supplemental because he was still trying to transfer to BYU taking summer classes but was determined academically ineligable. Very talented and gifted but not the brightest kid, has struggled academically everywhere he has been.:D

No...effing...way....there is no effing way he had a 38 inch vertical at 331 pounds.

The Dolphins ran Robert Armstrong's drills at his Morgan State pro day. Put together with their interest in Soi and it is obvious that they're looking to replace Fred Evans with someone from the Supplemental Draft.

Looks like Miami's interested in yet another Pacific islander though. Dang. We're going to develop a sub-culture around here. Someone check the guy for steroids, though...if those numbers are accurate. I'm not joking.

Yes he is. I have a question for EauGallieFish. Do you have a link that can confirm the measurements you gave? I'm not trying to hate on anyone but either that vertical is a typo, or the guy is on steroids.

Even the 40 and bench press are only semi-believable.

Couldn't find the number that EauGallieFish included but did find some rather similar info on PFW's scouting reports.

Brian Soi's review is towards the bottom. It really seems like he struggled academically.

Yeah I'd seen that but that's not the results of his pro day yesterday. If EauGallieFish's numbers are right, which I kind of doubt, no offense to him, then he just shot himself up the boards big time.

Sounds like a perfect guy to devour the playbook literally as kid can`t read it :sidelol:

I'm guessing he meant a 28" vertical. I wouldn't doubt the others though. He might just be one hell of an animal...

A 4.92 at 330 pounds would still be rather ridiculous and something I've never seen a draft prospect accomplish (and I've seen a lot of numbers, trust me). Put together with 41 reps and that's a monster workout...even if the vertical was 28 inches. If those are all true, then forget the Dolphins' interest...the Bears would pick him up as a replacement for Tank Johnson.

What's so hard to believe that a 331 pound dude can leap almost as high as Chris Chambers? :goof:

I'm guessing he meant 28" vertical probably.
41 reps is a TON though..... That's incredibly impressive by itself.

I Want Them To Draft Gaither Bigger Upside And Fills A Bigger Need. And The Kid Is Only 21 Yrs Old.

Gaither does sort of remind one of Manny Wright. They both have incredible physical ability, but couldn't focus on their responsibilities. I would say that Gaither works out more strenuously than Wright, however...and that gives him a chance in the NFL....where Manny was emotionally and mentally a baby.
