That is not how you catch a football.

No coach in history has told a player to body catch. The ball bounces off the plastic pads.

Yeah obviously. You always try to catch using the hands.

I played slot for a long time. Sometimes the ball is delivered on the back hip and you have to basically trap it on the body.

It's not optimal but required.
