Backward Pass

1. Any pass not forward is regarded as a backward pass. A pass parallel to the line is a backward pass. A runner may pass backward at any time.
2. A backward pass that strikes the ground can be recovered and advanced by either team.
3. A backward pass caught in the air can be advanced by either team.
4. A backward pass in flight may not be batted forward by an offensive player.

Well atleast its not an anti-ginn video. Nothing we can do, though I'm suprised they were so quick to make that call, like they saw he tried to cheat or something. They miss everything and you make a call like that in a critical point in the game? No.

It was a bonehead play and it was very costly, but I have no complaints about this.. Cam tried to scooch the ball out of bounds and was called for it.. The question I have is what the hell was the man thinking? There was still plenty enough time and there was no need to be desperate with each second ticking..

The one call I claim BS on is the Bess fumble.. It was still in his hand when the knee was down.. I dont care if the ball was hit and was about ready to pop out.. it was clearly in his hand at the same time the knee hit the ground, therefore its down by contact.. period!!!

Is an illegal forward pass the same thing as a forward lateral?

Anyway, you can clearly see the ball travels backwards on the live camera. They never showed the broadcast angle in any slomo replays.

The refs got the call wrong. They screwed us BIGTIME.

The refs screwed up the call, but it was only a 5 yd penalty. In any football game, there are going to be questionable 5-10 yd penalties.

The Ginn-Sharper pick 6 interception was a bigger factor in causing us to lose the game.

Looked to me like he was stumbling and tried to reach the ball for the sidelines when he lost control of the ball. Should NOT have been a penalty.

Having said that I was wondering during the play wtf he was doing running for the sidelines instead of getting as many yards as he could. Over 2 minutes left in the game and only half to field to go. We didn't want to leave any time on the clock for Brees to lead the Saints into field goal range anyway. Bad call, but a bonehead play.

Sparano should get a ruling on that play. His players need to know what Cam did that was wrong.

Whether it was a bonehead call or not, there are SO many questionable calls going against us. I mean, what the hell..

It was a 5 yard penalty PLUS LOSS OF A DOWN

yea it was a loss of down that killed us. Also if ricky didnt drop the 6 1/2 yd pass on 3rd and 8 then we probably get the first. on 4th and 1 or so.

who cares. the game is over. if we played and kept the lead instead of giving up and losing all our heart the bad calls by the refs wouldnt have made any difference.. We lost the game for ourselves, the refs didnt lose it for us.

The guy was trying to stretch out for the out of bounds he was not trying to throw the ball out of bounds, the ball slipped out of his hands when he did so. The refs blew it and so did the fan base.

the dumb part of this play was Cam trying to go for the sidelines in the first place... he had plenty of room going inside to get us the first down, and worst case scenario we could spike it to stop the clock... it was a DUMB move on his part to try to get to the sidelines when he was that far away...
