I'm not here bashing, just asking for everyone's opinion...

On a couple of the plays where Henne takes off running and slides, it really appeared to me that he was still hit / tackled by the defender's more than the "rules" allow. Seeing how the officials now do all they can to protect the QB, and with some of the real questionable personal foul calls we have seen called on players regarding contact with the QB, I guess I was a little surprised that flags were not thrown on those.

As I was watching it I was thinking if that had been Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, the flags would have been thrown real quick.

Am I way off base here? What did you guys think?

i was questioning that during the game too... its like whats the point of the slide if its still gonna get guys spearing you and jumping on top of your while your down?

I was wondering that too. I thought the rule stated that as soon as the QB went into the slide, the play was over and the QB was down, no need for defensive contact. There were a few times yesterday where Henne entered the hook slide and was really blasted after he was down. I've seen flags thrown with less contact.

i didnt see it but the idiot ref in the jets/lions game threw a PF flag against the jets when ellis pushed stafford while he was still in bounds and running the ball.

remember the Titans game last year where a defender fell down after a pick in OT and Camarillo jumped on top of him because he was untouched and it was a 15 yard penalty that put them in field goal range?

yet when a QB slides the play is supposed to be dead, you dont even have to touch him... but hey, nothing you can do about it now except shake your head

One definately shouldve been a penalty. The one where Lewis hit him, there was another player who came in from the side WELL AFTER Henne had began his slide. Hell, he was totally to the ground by the time the player hit him. Should be a penalty.

On top of that, it was real close to Lewis hitting him helmet to helmet in the act of a slide. Id have to see it again, but it couldve been a penalty from that aspect too.

But, like I told JCane during the game, if Henne or the coaches had complained about the Lewis hit, the refs wouldve simply explained that Henne was just lucky he wasnt stabbed. So no penalty.

Jim Manadich on Radio said the same thing if it was Brady there would have been 6 flags on the ground...

It's because it was Ray Lewis... It was a flag... both times

I started screaming at the tv when I saw that. Fact of the matter is, Henne has no star power. No celebrity, no foul. Total bull**** if you ask me b/c he was sliding to avoid the contact.

Did anybody watch the Iggles/Colts game? Did anybody see the guy who was going for the ball and brushed the back of Peyton's head. He caused the fumble but got it taken away on a penalty for going at the QB's head.

I'm not one to complain about rules and blown calls but I am one to complain about the inconsistency that these refs call these games. How many times does our defensive line have to be held before a flag is thrown? Our D-Line was pushing them back and collapsing that pocket like it was made out of straw and yet we only got 4 sacks. Bull****

I understand they are going to miss some calls (the PI against Mason was BS) but two hook slide hits or several holding penalties that coulda changed the length of the field on some of those FG's. NFL refs are ridiculously inconsistent.

For real...i swear to god it seems like Wake gets held all the time and it only gets called some of the time...i was screaming for one yesterday saying "idk how the **** that wasnt holding!"...i think its was on that one pass where Boldin caught it out of bounds in the endzone but i honestly dont remember.
