I thought the regular refs were bad, but sheesh. These guys need to go. I know it is only preseason games, but it drove me crazy. The Panthers get a 10 yard penalty on a hold and after 3 minutes of discussion from the refs, they have a 1st and 2 instead of a first and 20. Lol!! The Penalty on Davis alone was garbage. Both Steve Smith and Davis should have been called and offset. The pass interference on Sean Smith was garbage.

Please Goodell, I don't want to see these replacement refs in a regular season game.
 
the hold was called for a downfield block so it is a spot penalty. 10 yards from the spot of the hold so it was correctly placed and announced as a 1st and 2 to go. The Davis penalty was BS and should have been offsetting. Smith did use a minor armbar but it was not one that is usually called. both players going for the ball and should have been allowed to play-on. technically, fine line call but he did armbar him.
 
Goodell is losing leverage with every game that these guys officiate. I could only laugh watching the game as the official nearly called an offsides penalty holding. The replacements are not even close to being prepared for this duty.
 
The PI on Smith was a good call. Deal with it.
 
As I said in the game thread, I thought that the incompetence of the replacement refs would be preferable to the crookedness of the real refs.

I think I thought wrong.

Goodell's gonna have to pay the regular refs what they want. Every one of them is sitting at home in front of the TV with popcorn and a big ass grin.
 
Just watched the so called pass interference call on Sean Smith. Terrible call. He was turned around and playing the ball. Great play by Sean Smith and a bull **** call.
