Like Tony Sparano says, there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Well lets start. I'm not sure how much under the cap we are going to be, but I believe we are going to have a lot of money from what I've heard (I could be wrong). Lets start with the offensive line. Flozell Adams obviously has ties to the new executives of the Miami Dolphins and has be rumored to sign with the Fins. If we can sign him to be our LT, we can move Carey back to RT. We then could resign Hadnot and play him at LG with Shelton playing RG. That should hopefully be a great start to revamping our OL. If we cannot sign Adams, we could look to Jake Long or other OL help through the draft. We could also look at Alan Faneca to play LG.

Our defensive back situation is definitely a priority of this offseason. One signing that could help is Ken Hamlin at safety. We don't know how Yeremiah Bell is going to come back and that's even if we are able to resign him. Jason Allen did come on towards the end of the season and showed some promise. He should be given every opportunity to start next year. Bringing in Hamlin would provide the coaches with a valuable safety and one they are familiar with. The CB position also needs to be addressed. One could be drafted with either one of our two 2nd round picks. Will Allen did play well for us last year but I think everyone could agree he is better suited to be a #2 corner. There are also a few quality CBs that are going to be free agents if Parcells chooses to spend the money there. Truffant will most likely be slapped with the franchise tag and I highly doubt he leaves Seattle. That leaves Samuels and the Raider's CB as two candidates. Both will seek very lucrative deals as CBs are a hot commodity. With that said, Parcells may look to address the CB position through the draft.

Our defensive line can be helped by picking either Dorsey or Long with the 1st pick. Both players have high motors and should be stars in the NFL. They have the physical tools and skills to succeed at the next level. If Parcells drafts either one with the 1st pick, I would be happy and our DL would get a lot better. LB is a position that Parcells loves to draft. I'm sure he will draft a LB in the 3rd or 4th round. Hopefully Crowder and Thomas comes back healthy and Porter can play up to expectations. I know there is some doubt about Zach coming back, but he has been a staple for our defense for years and was still leading the NFL in tackles this past year before shutting it down. He isn't the Parcells type, but he gets the job done!

All in all I believe that this team can be a respectable one come next season. Parcells has a lot of money to play with and the 1st overall draft pick to go with it all. I'm sure he will be looking at Flozell Adams to play LT and resign Hadnot. That will definitely give us a very good offensive line to provide time for Beck. Hamlin could be signed to pair up with Jason Allen to give us a nice safety combination. A CB could be drafted in the second round to team up with Will Allen. Lastly using the 1st pick on either Dorsey or Long will greatly benefit our aging defensive line. It all sounds like a lot, but these aren't just some unrealistic madden moves. All of these moves are definitely possible and it would definitely improve the Dolphins in 08. I love the Dolphins just as much as anybody and I want to see this team get its credibility back. These moves would be a good start. Sorry for the long post and GO FINS!!!

Forgot to add that Parcells should try to trade the pick we got for chambers or our 3rd round pick for Roy Williams. Him opposite Ginn would give Beck some great options. Again GO FINS!

Doubt a 2nd or a 3rd would get us Roy Williams. A top 5, young receiver is worth a lot more than that in my opinion.

I like your post tho. I really hope we do some big things.

Bleh, Flozell got absolutely handled by Umenioya (sp) from the G-Men in that game. A playoff do or die game and thats the best he can do? I shudder to think of what a Richard Seymour would do 2 times a year. Not to mention hes old....
I think we dont sign any of the "BIG" FAs this year, but get a few of the middle class ones to start filling holes. Hamlin though? He seems to be just like Allen, a physical guy-we need more of a cover type imo.
This draft is gonna be huge-i expect us to stockpile a few more picks-either via player trades, or more likely some trade downs in the draft. Likely set us up for next years draft as well. Always look ahead, thats why NE is so good, they are always planning for the future while taking advantage of today.

I agree with much of what you said. Adams at LT seems as probable as Sparano landing the HC job. Clearly if we stay at #1 it is Dorsey or Chris Long. I rule out Jake Long, with Sparano being a OL coach he should be able to find a very solid addition in rounds 2-3. My pick is Chris Long, I DVRed the Virgina bowl game and have watched it several times over. There is literally not a play he isn't being doubled. Late in the game he beat double coverage on a couple truly amazing plays. The key to me here was, late in the game. He gives you everything he's got every play. I also love his versatility, as I feel he could play ILB too.
As for FA, I think we must get younger. Bringing in veterans serves nearly no purpose as even a playoff birth seems years away. The same goes for sending a pick for a big name WR, this draft is pretty deep of big wideouts that can play opposite Ginn. I look for FA to upgrade the lines(hopefully)Gross/Wharton seem to be solid options. I also like Corey Williams of GB. We definitely have the resources to improve and I believe we have the right men on the clock.

Here's to the future!:beer1:

I wouldnt go that for but I sure hope your right

Flozell would be a good pickup for LT and move Carey back to RT. I really don't think Hadnot will resign from what I've read, he deserves a good chuck of change. Samuel really don't fit well for our scheme but again he is one of the best CB in the league. The Raiders CB who I won't even try to spell fits well but probably pretty expensive. Now Florence from SD would be a good #2 or #3 CB but I would still draft a CB in the draft. Allen, Florence, Daniels, Draft Pick. Sounds much better to me than last year. At the line maybe Flozell, ???, Satele, Shelton, Carey also sounds good to me. At QB I really have a feeling we could see Pennington here if Jets cut him. If not I have no clue what to do at QB. WR, I doubt we trade for Roy or Chad but I rather give up a #2 pick for either than draft one.
