All I want for Christmas is no change in our Secoundary. Matt Roth named a starter and Maybe add a linebacker. Draft a QB, OL, WR. We don't want an overhaul, I don't want to go through these slow starts again. If Nick is around long enough his system will work. Because the young guys can watch and learn the first year or two. Then be plugged in without skipping a beat.

Our draft status keeps getting higher and higher. At this rate we're gonna be right where we were last year. Which i believe we'll leave us with a tough decision between one of the best LB's, or one of the Best CB's in this years draft.

If that's the case, we go LINEBACKER all the way baby! I think we have pretty good depth at CB. A LB has a better chance at starting in our system.

why would we want a QB? Daunte and Joey.... two quality starters... one will emerge a star....

Maybe QB round 2. Round 1-Linebacker, or if a left tackle slips...
Where will Levi Brown from Penn State go?

Draft a WR or Ol in the first round and sign CB and LB in free agency. There is more depth at LB and CB in free acency while there is lack of offensive talent in the free agent market, Our offense this year has been the major weakness, therefore it should be major priority to upgrade the offense this offseason. The Dolphin defense is one of the best in the league, while the offense is one of the worst in the league. Why upgrade a strength, when we have such a lack of talent on the other side of the ball? At some point we need an offense that can score some points, we cant reley totally on the defense next year, like we did in a lot of games this seaon. We need a balanced attack for next year, so we have to improve on the OL and at WR.

With that balanced attack, I think also requires balance in the draft. We'll have 6 picks. They should probably be spent evenly between O and D. While the O is a weakness, the D is aging in spots. We need to begin to unearth younger players that next season can: A)provide depth B)play special teams C)be role players(dime DB's, 2nd TE, etc) D)Ultimately start.
LB, left Tackle, a CB, maybe a TE, QB, DT all would fit the bill.

A) I would trade Ronnie Brown for a 1st round pick (if anyone would be silly enough to bite on that)
B) Draft one of the stud WR's in the first round, and possibly pick Joe Thomas if available with the aquired pick.
C) Draft Michael Bush in the second round..
D) Go LB in 3rd round
E) Fill in the rest of the picks with depth on Oline

Offseason Moves:
A) Priority #1-Sign Briggs away from Chicago
B) Sign a semi-big name CB

And that would be a playoff team my friends.

Our D isn't getting any younger. I say go OL or Defense in the draft, but that depends on what we do with that pile of $$ we'll be sitting on.

get lance briggs and and draft teddy ginn
I am all for drafting Ted Ginn Jr. or Troy Smith, some people think he is too small, truth be told...he is the same size as Drew Brees. Very Interesting. :D :dolphins: As for Ginn, he can do it all and the Dolphins could have Ginn and Welker returning kicks next year. If the return players would form a nice wedge, I think Welker can take it the distance, he was awesome in college as a return man. I am surprised he hasn't broken one yet, maybe we need a new special teams coach next year.

Why would we trade our best offensive player?

This is not a bad scenario. I like Ronnie Brown, but if we can get something big for him (or maybe Chambers instead?), I say pull that trigger. Actually, I'd rather let Chambers go than RB, keep RB, and let CC go, and draft his "replacement" with that extra pick. We do need to acquire a little improvement on D, but this is nice. It also helps the O-line. Very nice suggestion.

I would like for us to get a receiver in the first round. If Calvin comes out, we have no chance to get him. So Dwayne Jarrett or Ted Ginn would be nice. If not receiver I would like to get Paul Pousluzny from Penn State.
