Draft:
Early rounds 1-3
-DT
-ILB
-SS (a big guy)

Late rounds 4-7
-OLB
-OG
-DT
-ILB

*by the way i know we have more than 7 picks. These are just the positions I think they will be targeting in the given rounds.

Free Agent:
-WR
-ILB
-OT (depth)
-CB

I truly do not believe the FO will be targeting WR or other specialty positions in the Draft. I still think BP wants to upgrade the core of the D first (DT, SS, LB) with some big heavy hitters.

i dont like this plan at all. We have not one good young corner on this team. We have two over 30's one a perenially good player and one that has barely started in his career at 30. We have a dissapointing 4th year corner/safety possible bust. We need more talent and youth at corner.
We need to draft another lineman fairly early along with a DT.

you go with what brings you to the dance .... DEFENSE and RUNNING GAME

Day 1: (Defense #1)
LB (need 2 - could get 1 in FA) (not including Wake)
DB (need a S, then CB to restock with youth)
OL (could go C, or RT - depending on Carey) (disagree with CK on Satele)

Day 2:
DL (project NT)
LB (project, special team contributor)
DB (project, special team contributors)
OL (project - fliers such as Donald Thomas)
WR

Why draft a project NT when NT is probably our biggest and most important need on this defense. This is much more important than anything else on defense although CB is a close second.

This team has so many holes that we should just be going BPA in the draft the whole way through(exclude QB's and HB's). In FA just go and grab anybody that would be an upgrade at any position(For the right price). I keep seeing all these threads about "what we need the most is" but IMO there isn't a single position we need more than others, what we need is GOOD players. We could use upgrades at...... WR, OT, OG, C, DE, DT, OLB, ILB, CB, S....... If they re-sgn Carey you can cross off OT but all of those other positions we need upgrades whether we keep all our players from last season or not.

I would draft at positions that we're aging, and hit the FA market for spots where we need a veteran presence.

FA
-Interior offensive line (Jason Brown?)
-Wide Receiver (Amani Toomer?)
-Younger CB to replace Goody (Bryant McFadden?)

Draft
-DEFENSE (CB, S, DT, ILB, OLB)

Dlockz.. I COMPLETELY agree with you.. i have been preaching for us to get a young talent at cb since surtain left us years ago. These are just predictions based on what i think our FO will do... not what i want to happen.

Miami will raid Dallas again and sign LB Kevin Burnett, DE Chris Canty, and maybe even RFA WR Miles Austin.

Channing Crowder will sign with the Patriots.

You know, a visitor to this site would think that all available free agents will be signing with the Dolphins...................

Amani Toomer is DONE. D-O-N-E.

For the most part I would agree with both of you except I think our needs are 1.NT, 2. ILB 3. OL and 4. CB

I think if you add depth to the nose and have a REAL solid inside backer your corners will prosper (and you wont look like a fool trying in vein to stop the running attack) but we do need a corner too (a top 5 need)

also it would really be nice to be able for offense to take the field and line brown up in the backfield and proclaim we are going to run the ball right down your throat and then proceed to do it without one ounce of trickery.

unfortunatly its not 1972 and we dont have larry csonka. So we need to improve the run blocking, draft someone that can or bring back the entire 72 offensive line as coaches so they can beat our guys about the head and body until they get it right.

:woot:

To be honest, I actually think it makes a lot of sense. I think we have a good core of really inexperienced wideouts with Bess, Camarillo and Teddy. Even throw London in that mix if you want. I think Amani could come in and be a stabilizing influence on these guys, and teach them the 'tricks of the trade' if you will. Call him done if you want, but he still makes clutch catches when his team needs them. In fact, I think his addition would be similar to Isaac Bruce signing with the Niners. He was pretty impressive for a guy that was also supposedly done.

Fact is, we dont have room on our roster for another high draft pick at WR. We already have young talent at the position. We need a veteran. Call me crazy, but I take Amani Toomer at a reasonable salary over guys like Nate Washington and Jabar Gaffney.
