Free agent OG John Moffitt wants to return to the NFL.

Moffitt, 28, retired in November 2013 due to drug issues. He's since cleaned up his life and has been training the past three months with an eye toward returning to the league. The former No. 75 overall pick in 2011 by the Seahawks, Moffitt was an All-American at offensive lineman-friendly Wisconsin. Moffitt (6-foot-4, 319) is a nasty mauler in the trenches who can play guard or center.rotoworld...

don't know anything about him and no need to expound on our OG situation....

worth looking into ????

mauler is not how i would characterise him...i've never been impressed with the guy

Assuming he's an upgrade over what we have, and he will undoubtedly come cheap, I see no reason not to take a look. Admittedly I also don't know anything about him, so I have no idea what he is or isn't capable of bringing to the team in terms of talent

Report: Ex-Broncos guard John Moffitt to return to NFL

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reported on Wednesday that after battling a drug issue, the 28-year-old blocker has gotten clean and wants to return to the NFL.

"I have never been so proud of a guy I've trained than I am of John Moffitt," Glazer wrote on Twitter. "Retired two years ago (because) he knew he had drug issues, took time to go to rehab, clean up his life, beat his demons and he has taken his life back! Guy inspires us every day. He came to me three months ago at (Glazer's gym) Unbreakable to train to take his career back. He's become the favorite of every player in our gym. He officially un-retired today. Free agent starting guard. So proud of him to get here."

Glazer added that the Broncos, who still own his rights, will release Moffitt. He will be subject to the waiver process.

We may not get a chance to kick the tires on him if he has to go thru waivers.

Former Denver Broncos player John Moffitt has been arrested on battery and drug possession charges at a Chicago nightclub.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Assistant State's Attorney Stephanie Gersch says Moffitt was found with a gram of cocaine, four ecstasy pills and 10 grams of marijuana early Sunday at The Underground.

Police reports say a man asked Moffitt about selling drugs at the nightclub and Moffitt allegedly hit him in the head.
The guard quit the NFL in November, saying he'd lost his love for the game and was tired of risking his health.

From NBC Sports, December 6, 2011: "Seahawks rookie offensive lineman John Moffitt has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

If he signs for vet minimum or low cost contract, I would sign him. Even if he doesn't start, he could compete for a back up spot.

Yeah! Finally a role model for Dion Jordan!!!

Yeah. No thanks.
