I've had news of this all week but didn't want to say anything prior to 2:00PM this afternoon because nothing had been confirmed yet.

Big news.

Practice started this afternoon at 2:00PM. Grades were given out yesterday.

Robert Marve is NOT at practice today. He is at home in Tampa and has been excused from practice. I don't have any further information than that and I don't know how much, if anything I'll get after the practice concludes. Obviously the biggest concern is will he transfer or has he just been suspended for the Emerald Bowl. Either way it doesn't look good. I found out that Marve had skipped more than twice the number of classes allowed to miss. If I had to guess, Marve won't play in the bowl game. Like I said in another thread, Marve stated at the banquet that his grades were fine but I remember telling my parents the same thing before as well.

As soon as I get something, I'll drop it here.

Yeah I read that too. Im really not worried about it because I think Jacory will do good, and prove that he is the starter from now on.

I just saw on espn that Marve's dad told the Miami Herald that he has no plans on transferring. Take it for what its worth.

I love how they suspended him for being 15 mins late to a class. (He was talking to another teacher in his class before the entire time).

Shouldn't Shannon worry about coaching rather than players being 15 mins late to class? If Marve transfers, I really don't blame him for doing so. He's gotten **** treatment his entire tenure at UM.

Stellar.

In a way I agree and I certainly understand your frustration. But in all honesty, it was Marve's responsibility to get to class. It isn't just the 15 minutes that he was late. He missed too many classes. The 15 minutes late put him over. What was he doing the other times he was missing class? Marve has been seen out in the Grove on school nights partying it up until the AM hours. Coker let these kids get away everything in the classroom. Most of them didn't even go to class *cough* Devin Hester *cough*. I feel bad for Marve but in the same thought it's on him. He was a redshirt Freshman who got to start every single game for the University of Miami despite being outplayed by his backup 90% of the time.

It seemed to me that there was just a sense of entitlement with Robert Marve. It almost seemed as if he felt he was owed something. This is Miami. You gotta earn it. Jacory understands that. Jacory took advantage of every opportunity that he was given and never soured. Jacory had a different attitude. I'd see Robert and Jacory both down by the buses after games and Jacory would come out, smile on his face, autographs, meet & greet, talk it up with the fans, and Robert would just look around with a blank face and take a seat on the bus. And some guys are like that and that's fine.

I'm not knocking Robert Marve because I love that kid to death. I've been behind him 100% all season. Even when he had the poor games(ie: Duke) I'd find someway to let him know to keep that head up. It's part of the process. Then again, so is going to class. 15 minutes late or not, Robert was warned two weeks prior to this. He knew he was on the ropes. No one is to blame here but Robert.

Let me break this down for you guys in easy-to-swallow pill form. The University of Miami is a private school. It's highly expensive. We're talking $25k+ per semester. Great campus. Tropical climate. Premier football program every single year. I get a full ride—books, tuition, housing, etc. I'm the quarterback at the U and I pretty much have my pick of any chick I want.

Here's the catch: All I have to do is not miss class and maintain a 2.0GPA.

Where do I sign up, coach?

I agree

None of those three will really affect the team as they all play very very little. Richard Gordon sees more playing time than any of them. He's a tight end and we all know that Patrick Nix doesn't know what a tight end is.
