I loved the enthusiasm before the game today. DolphinDevil's pre-game war cry was awesome as usual and it was great chatting with other Dolphins fans and getting pumped for the game.

However the stupidity of some fans in the last few weeks really angers me, especially after tonight's loss. One particular rocket scientist/columnist-in-the-making stated that "Miami will win by at least two touchdowns" and "Joey Porter talks more than his game" and then went on to say how Pittsburgh is a weak opponent. I told you that you were wrong then and I'm telling you again you underestimated them.

I really thought we'd win tonight and like some of the other intelligent fans, we thought if we'd win it, it would be a close game. There's nothing wrong with being psyched for your team and wanting them to win big, but underestimating your opponent is just plain stupid. I hope some of you learn.

I hear you man. The loss is deflating, but it's not the season. There was some good things tonight. To come on here and start bashing is just lame.

This thread is a great idea, but it's been done many times and it never works. For some reason people LOVE to exaggerate about football even though the majority of all games are not blowouts. Look at Patsy fans, they do it better than anyone. To them every game is going to be a blowout then when the Pats win by 3 points, as they often due, the fans do one of 2 things.

1. Act like it still was a blowout and the score didn't indicate how badly the Mighty Patriots pushed your team around.

2. Act like the other team played the game of there lives to be able to bea the mighty Patriots.

No matter how many of these threads are started, there will be some idiot starting a thread about how we are going to kill Buffalo next week. We probably won't kill them.

It was a devastating night. I knew already that we would see the whole "Daunte Sucks" threads, the statements saying our season is over. It's funny really. We played a pretty good game and made mistakes that every team in the NFL makes. Daunte isn't the only QB to throw two INT's. Michael Lehan isn't the only CB to get a crucial penalty. The season is 1 day old, why label it a failure already?

We played an ok game, but the Steelers played great.

Now, we go back and learn from the mistakes to prepare for next week.

You're absolutely right. It's just the first game out of sixteen regular season games. There were some positive things to take out of tonight's loss.

However, some of the same people who were proclaiming we'd win by 14 points are the same ones calling for Saban or Daunte's head tonight. I think that is lame.

Nothing like finheaven to have someone throw a fins loss in peoples face

I'm not throwing a Fins loss in the face of anyone. I'm just calling out those who showed no respect for an opponent that deserved it and who are the same ones calling for Saban or Daunte's head right now.

Thank you for a lucid and sensible post in a night of ridiculous and absurd posts!

we are easily a 10 win team....we did some damn good stuff tonight and had em beat....that damn penalty lost us the game imo
.....thats the infuriating part

our team is leaps and bounds above wanny crap and they need more time playing...culpep is less than a year from his surgery....

It happens after every loss really. If you remember after we got blew out by Browns last year...the reaction then was about the same. Look what happened after that game.

You can't jump to conclusions to quick. It's not over by a long shot. Culpepper doesn't 'suck'. There's things that happen in football that will happen to EVERYONE. Culpepper threw two INT's in a clutch moment, so that makes him suck? Wow, I guess Peyton Manning is the worst QB ever for throwing three against the Pats in the playoffs years back. Get real people. It's not over, it's only the beginning to a long season.

to label the season a failure bc we lost to the defending super bowl champions in their stadium is just plain stupid. yes we r flawed, but i think there were some bright spots also. the thing we really have goin for us is our next 3 games r against the bills, titans, and texans. not to mention with the exception of the new england game, we also play the jets and packers before the bye week. so a possibly favorable schedule and some improvements in performance by players AND coaches with some average opponents could and should turn the failure posts into once again super bowl bound posts (just to throw it out there, im not sayin we r goin to the superbowl).

Daunte performed so well in the first half I honestly thought he was going to pull through in the end. I say the 3rd and 2 play was the game killer. We needed that play so bad. Tough loss to swallow, but the season goes on.

All those over confident people who were already counting the win and saying it will be easy just look like idiots, and there are lots of you that fit in that category.

can we say 05 Broncos week 1??? They're were still playing when we had moth balls in our lockers...heres some tissue b****s
