This should get some people riled up

Another day, another question:

Is Ryan Tannehill the 27th best quarterback in the league, as an ESPN poll of coaches and general managers found?

If so, the Dolphins season will sink as low as the national perception is of them this off-season.

I'll just say this....if he doesn't severely play above his ranking in this poll....I'll be surprised. Not shocked, but surprised.

He didn't play last year and is coming off a knee surgery, let his play speak for itself. I don't think 27th is accurate, but I'd say closer to 20 is more fair.

I don’t see anyway a GM or coach takes the time out of their day to do a poll for ESPN.

The breakdown of voters this year: 10 general managers, five head coaches, 10 coordinators, 10 senior personnel executives, five QB coaches and 10 others with job titles ranging from assistant coach to salary-cap manager to analytics director.

Ryan Tannehill's QBR has been below 50 every season but 2014. (By comparison, Bortles has been above 50 twice over that span, despite having one fewer season.)

Is this the year Tannehill takes off?

"He is one of those guys like Dalton, where you wait for them to take the next step, but they kind of just level off," a former GM said. "He's been hurt, too."

Missing the 2017 season with a torn ACL left voters with nothing new to go on.

"He has a good arm and is a good athlete, but similar to that [Sam] Bradford-type deal, he really hasn't done much except tease us and flash a little bit," a personnel director said. "He needs to be managed, like a lot of them do."

Good better to be underrated than overrated. Prove it on the field, that's the only way to earn your spot, nobody cares about half a season of good play that probably happens a dozen times a year with a handful of non elite QB's. Consistently play well and win games and more of our players will get recognition.

If they underrate him now, they won't expect much on the field this year and that will be their downfall.

It doesn't get me riled up at all. I'm old enough to know it's what happens on the field is much more important than some crystal ball reader out there. Seeing Ryan's attitude so far, hearing him direct players, and hearing his story about sitting inside while watching the players take the practice field during his rehab tell me all I need to know.
The throws will be there, the pre-snap reads will be there, and the arm will be thee.
I'm not worried. We have a team ready to prove to the NFL that 2017 was a fluke. So take us lightly opponents, please.

Really, I can see Bill B pulling up a chair, saying "okay, get me the list of names.... okay, 'let's see, I'll put Tom here, then Rodgers here...no wait, maybe Rothles...."

if there was a poll, it was likely a low-level media contact person handing it off to the cute summer intern "hey Candy, herea a fun link you can work on, and let's have lunch later..."
