Oh No ! Cameron just said Carey will be our left tackle.. We are in trouble !!

Tonight, in the press conference after the 1st day of the draft, Cameron said he will put Carey at left tackle.. I think this is going ot be a huge problem .. carey simply isn't nimble enough to play the position..

And on top of that, now we need to find someone who can play to Carey's level at right tackle.. I see our offensive line woes will continue .. Brown , Ricky and Beck will get killed for yet another year ..

Here is the press conference, you will see a link to it in here .. At about 9:40 Cameron starts talking about putting Vernon Carey at LT .. The last time we tried this, he stunk up the joint on the left side.. Oh ord have mercy.. Now I wish someone picked Ginn before us and Levi Brown slipped to # 9

Wow. You must have some resume. It's amazing that you know so much about Carey and the coaches don't. Quick. Send this to Mueller and Coach Cameron before it's too late. And please continue to post, your incisive comments make all of us smarter.

Well its definately not a given he can play left tackle.
 
FYI Vernon Carey does not have the physical attributes (footwork etc) to be a LT ..

You will see in time as he's tried there and he fails miserably.. Make sure to pat me on the back when this comes to fruition later in the year .. I will make sure to pull up this thread and throw you a nice laugh .
 
Carey has showed promise a LT before. What are you so scared off. I think what Carey problem isthat he is not to confident about himself.if he does good at LT he will have all the confidence in the World.I think if Houck agrees with it why not.

Beck wont start until 2008 at the earliest
 
What are you talking about? He's got the long arms, footwork and balance. All he needs to do to make the transition is get acclimated to the left side with his footwork. Watch some film, you'll see.

If Jamaal Brown can move to LT, then Carey can too. It is all in Vernon's head. He has the ability.

Well its been in his head since he came into college as a top oline propsect and that has been a while.
 
I want Doug Free anyway. I hope we trade up in the fourth or trade a player outright for an early fourth and nab him. If nothing else he will push Alabi and Carey and make a great backup.
 
As weird as it seems to me to say it I have a growing fear that our offensive line will get worse next season. Man I hope Alabi, Toledo and Satele can step it up

We have basically no chemistry or stability on this line.

Ha you sound like one of those cats that though Saban was God. Look how that end up, now you think Cam is GOD! Its normal not to agree with everything the coach chooses, there human remember.
 
HH is all about Alabi being something special so hopefully he will be ready for the season. Mise well keep Carey at RT. Why disrupt a good thing?
