No matter what you think of these draft decisions the bottom line is we have no depth and minimal talent currently due to his decisions. He has put us in a salary cap situation that is completely screwed for next year. There is not one thing I will say positive about this man, he has made me for the first time in my life prefer to sell my tickets because I hate the team on the field and vibe in the crowd, its just gone completely WRONG.
I hate all the tradeups, trades for more expensive veteran players, ignoring certain roster positions, and the way he has handled contracts and the cap. Off with his head!
A spreadsheet look at players acquired simply does not tell the whole story about what Trader Mike is doing. He can’t see further than his nose.
A GM always needs to be thinking ahead and not just on todays roster. A good GM doesnt give away draft picks for veterans every season. We are paying the price now for having a short sighted GM who is never thinking about the future. Tannenbaum has done a miserable job
Tannenbaum is best at putting a band-aide on cancer. We will always be mediocre until we can actually find a direction and build towards it. All this patch work is going to give us what we’ve always got. mediocrity (at best)
I still think he always overvalued FAs.
I have never seen Tannenbaum’s method work for a franchise.
Mostly back in 2010 when I saw the moves he was making. But I stopped thinking that was the case when he kept making similar deals with pushing back guaranteed money in 2011, even when he and the other NFL teams knew not to expect a big climb in salary cap for 2012 and 2013. He was still making similar moves of just pushing back money and acting like he could always delay the cliff for another year (kind of like Congress with the fiscal budget!). Except now it’s catching up because the Jets aren’t get the results expected and flaws in the roster are being exposed.
