You will be impressed this year!! And no more about meaningless games and pressure please thats just not a viable excuse and I think you know that!!
if they play well from week 1 and keep their team in playoff contention I'll be impressed.

I have responded to that many times, maybe not in this thread as I didn't see it but your D was awful when games mattered and played well when they didn't. That doesn't impress me, our D wasn't very good so if you want to say your no pressure D was better go ahead. Isn't it amazing how you had a better O and D yet finished 2 games behind us?
I've only skimmed this thread but if I gather the context right the raging debate is the Sanchez/ Tebow thing in NY and whether or not Tebow is hurting the Jets or helping them.
Well the only things I have to say about the topic of Teblows is like this, if Sanchez loses his position as starter to Tebow (he will not by the way) the Jets have bigger problems because Tebow is a horrible QB, just the fact of the matter. John Elway knows that in order to get the most out of Tebow they had to gimmick their way to an offense that was not sustainable in the NFL, hence the arrival of Mr.18.
The Jets on the other hand have uses the Wildcat more effectually than the Dolphins and to think Tebow isn't the perfect player to execute that formation is asinine. He is a much better candidate than someone like Ronnie Brown who is solely a RB. Tebow adds a dimension to the Jets offense that you must prepare for, it is the same philosophy that Miami used with the implementation of the Wildcat and so many Miami fans applauded that approach and now critize the Jets for trying to improve it. If Tebow doesn't make the Jets roster what does it hurt other than the chance that Tebow plays anywhere else in the NFL again and if Tebow starts that means bigger problems for Jets fans, that means two things 1) Sanchez is injured or 2) he isn't the franchise QB they think he is.
That's never stopped you from regurgitating your rhetoric over and over in the past.
And I'm not the one who said our D was better. You inferred that our D was better with you PPG comment. I was only using your logic.
As for "playing awful when it mattered." Anyone can say the same thing about the jests offense last year. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, Week 17 mattered to your players. As far as they were concerned the playoffs were on the line. Your O only managed to put up 17 points against our less than stellar D when it mattered. (btw not a lot of "franchise QB's" throw 3 picks against their rival team with the playoffs on the line) In contrast, our terrible O (with a career back-up at QB) managed 19 points on your vaunted D.
Let me respond for you "Ah-hem... Miami only outplayed us in that game because that game was meaningless to them. The jests were already out of the playoffs at that point anyways. It doesn't matter that THEY didn't know they were out of it, it only matters that I knew it at the time."
week 17 did matter and they did play awful but they needed to play well and win games to get in the race- something Miami was never in.
That's fine. I never said Miami was in the race so I'm not sure why that's even on the table between you and I. To the point... Our D was better than yours. Your O was better than ours. Neither team played well enough to make the playoffs.
Oh... aaaaand SNATCHEZ SUCKS!!! :D
"If you want to say your D was better go ahead" is a pretty loaded statement because 1) At the end of the season, Miami's certainly was and 2) It sounds condescending.
Our D was very disappointing, if you want to say yours was better go ahead. I hope our D is back to normal in 2012, if it is we will be very good.
I was only parroting you sir.
Once more. You said that your O was better than ours and cited PPG as proof. Someone else pointed out both teams' Defensive PPG and stated that our D was better, using your own logic. Therefore, YOU said that our D was better.
I know you're the spin master on these boards but there's really no way to spin yourself out of that corner. Don't be ashamed that you may have inadvertantly complimented our team on our site. Be proud sir. Stand tall and be proud.
Again, you have no idea what you're talking about with regards to "When the game mattered". Every game matters to these guys. Stop harping on something that doesn't exist.
It won't kill you to admit Miami had a better defense down the stretch. Why is it that the defense stopping teams that are playing for something is cast aside because "Miami had no chance anyway"? That's a logical fallacy, and a double standard. New York had everything to play for, and they simply got beat by a stronger defense. That's it. Period. End of discussion. No mental gymnastics necessary!
