OK i know some don't want to but lets be pessimistic for a second...

ok i know i don't post much on this site and i've already had my avatar taken off but i was thinking to myself today and it dawned on me...lets the dolhpins just stink up the place and and we go lets say 5-11 with the #1 overall pick in the 2006 draft...i saw the dolphins draft Matt Lienart from USC because QB is by far one of the teams worst links...in fact the dolphins probably have the worst talent at QB in the entire NFL...well we get Lienart (lets say) and it comes time to sign him as i look at the teams cap situation as of right now its gonna be tough to give him the money that he'll want...i think a veteran or veterans will be cut or traded to make room for him and other key addition the dolphins might try and aquire...i'm just curious as to whom ya'll think these veterans will be or if you think that we'll keep our veterans and have plenty of room to sign him...the veterans that i see that could be potentially cut or traded are Zach Thomas (which hurts to say) and Sam Madison (also hurts to say)...i think then Channing Crowder who has been impressive thus far in camp and in the preseason games can become the teams new MLB for years to come and then Will Poole and Travis Daniels can become two talented CBs for years to come...remember this is all hypothetical and i'm sorry to those who become inraged by people looking into the future...hope to hear ur thoughts and please be nice...

Well, you're forgetting a few things. What if madison has like 7 INts this season. What if Zach forces 3 fumbles, 2ints, and over 150 tackles. We wouldn't let them go at that point. If the dolphins suck, and they suck, then sure. bring on the knew. But saban won't ust throw away good players. And as we saw with surtain, fair value in the trading business is hard to find.

i totally agree with u i was just saying hypothetically

yeah let's suck so we can draft lienart and pay ing $50 mil over the next 6 years, along with ronnie's big deal, chambers new deal, and randy who we will have to extend. and we haven't even started talking about the defense yet....

he never stated that we lose on purpose to get leinart, just hypothetically said what would happen if we were in that situation, what would we have to do to sign him. ersonally im not positive we even could sign him. We'd probably have to trade out of that pick no matter what.

All the Dolphins are lacking is some Cider---No seriously, Confidence--The first team D are doing well--Ricky has had a couple of good runs---We just need consistency at QB--I would play either Gus or AJ all of the game aganst the Bucs, just to get the consistency that we need

I don't think you guys will have to worry about losing on purpose, nor is that what Greek is saying. Miami will probably let some guys go for the good of the team. Zach Thomas is not as good as he used to be and doesn't really fit Saban's scheme. He should be let go. Sam Madison (as much as I don't like bashing Louisville guys) probably isn't going to get those 7 hypothetical INT's probably more like 3 or 4. He needs to restructure or be let go.

The Phins are going to have to clean out the closet so to speak to make room for new players as well. For instance, Zach gets cut then Crowder can step up and become a Pro Bowler (which I think he will). Your QB of the future is probably playing college ball right now, I'm assuming he'll be a high first rounder. If you want him you'll have to pay.

If we are picking number one I would say trade out for two or three reasons. One being that the quality of LT's in this draft is rediculous. Two, we could trade down 5 spots get a Eli type of deal because of Leinart, and end up with "The Brick". We need more help than just QB, and getting a franchise LT is a great start. Three, the #4 or #5 pick is alot more cap friendly than the #1.

We would have to be worse that 5-11 to get the #1 pick. Probably 3-13 mininum.

never did i saw the dolphins should lose on purpose where do u guys get this stuff from??? i was just looking at the other side of the spectrum and i would never want to see the phins lose on purpose what kind of fan would i be...you have to look at both sides of something and figure out the ends and outs of every possible situation which i merely just posted about one of the many situation that could occur during the 2005 season...everyone who thinks i want the dolphins to lose on purpose needs to relax i'm just be hypothetical.

"lets the dolhpins just stink up the place and and we go lets say 5-11 with the #1 overall pick in the 2006 draft "

Sounds kinda like the same thing to me....
