I dont know what you guys saw but I thought the offense did a decent job...Some great looks were Martin and Fasono. Their catching has improved since preseason and practice... I like the seperation the TEs are getting...Camarillo and Ginn did OK!? I mean they caught some passes that converted the downs...Camarillo I really like this guy, he makes some tough catches...Ginn Needs more seperation and communication with pennington.. Clearly the next game Wilford or London will be out there or More Hagan.... Ginn Bess and Camarillo were too small to dominate the jets corners or gain huge advantages with the corners... Coaching mistake number 1.....

Pennington did a good job this game..I like this guy..He makes good decisions, but in the beginning he missed some easy passes that could have got us in range to score 6 or 3.. might have changed the games outcome if we gained early momentum and was fighting to come back in the end... The running game needs work.. Hopefully Cramer will pick up those blocks this year that Grigsby didnt. I dont realy like up the middle running plays when they arent working... Jake long needs to relax...Those penalities were a killer for us.. all in all we did pretty good in my eyes .. we need to clean up the penalities and add some new guys to the WRs and O line.... When pennington has time he does good things...KEEP MARTIN and FASANO active.. I liek these guys!

FAIL FORWARD FAST not SLOW!!!! hahaa jk

The only thing I was dissapointed in was our Red Zone offense. We should of put up those TDs when we had the chance.

Oh well on to Arizona!

Definately!!! running game needs to improve and we have to use wilford what he is... he isnt the best at long yardage plays...lets use him for a body and if he isnt open someone else will be thats if they get the point and dubble team him

Unless you had game film it is impossible to see the WR separation. I was there. Ginn and Camarillo were getting separation. The issue is that Chad needs MORE separation to offset his weak arm. If Henne were in there and were capable of reading defences he would have probably tried more to Ginn and Camarillo than the checkdowns.

Good points Naps! I agree that I saw some real positives compared to last year's squad. Last year, I never really felt like we ever had any control of the games. But in this first game at various points, we controled certain aspects at certain times. You can see the rebuilding process is already starting to pay some divedends. The line is inconsistent, but had some flashes of improvement from last year. Obviously, while not overly flashy, the QB spot was fairly solid (no big mistakes), unlike last year. On the defense, you could see that our DL and LB play was better than last year (while still plenty of room for improvement). TE play was leaps/bounds above last year. The big holes are obviously at many of the skill positions. WR's & DB's. Most of the WR's ran sloppy routes and rarely got seperation (thus why there were very few throws to the WR's). DB's, well I think it's obvious there's a problem when a QB can throw up a hail-mary pass on 4th down in the end-zone that was in the air for 5+ seconds and nobody other than a backup jet WR was near it when it came down. The other TD pass wasn't much better. I understand it was a decent play fake by Favre, but to have everyone faked out and burned by 5 steps. . . . .
Obviously the FO has some work to do in the off-season and draft this next year on some glaring holes.
But as they say, "Rome wasn't built in a day". So considering we are coming off a 1 win season, I definately saw improvements from last year and have some optimism as the season goes on.

Great Post. i agree we did a good job in this game, rebuilding is moving along as planned. Also, as someone said above, we were able to score a touchdown on a 90 yard drive time consuming drive, thats some reason for optimism.

I totally disagree. Did you see Martins TD. The DB was all over him. It has nothing to do with Chad. Our receivers have to be held accountable to a certain extent. Sure maybe there were plays were they were 'open'. But Chad knowing their defense, and knowing the DB strengths, maybe he decided not to test his former team.

You don't become the most accurate passer in history without throwing passes. Henne is a non issue so let's not go there. That statement just tells me your a Henne homer.

Ginn has always had issues being 'quick' off the line. It obviously showed this past weekend. Just about every media outlet spoke about how he got jammed off the line. Camarillo and Bess simply for out manned. I think it's the trust factor here. Alot of things went wrong in our opener that I certainly didn't expect from our preseason showing. I didn't expect us to be manhandled in the trenches. I didn't expect out running game to be enemic, and I certainly didn't expect our TEs to lead the team in catches. If the big ole TEs can make some plays.. what does that say about Ginn? Yes he's a work in progress, that being said, his performance, minus one preseason game doesn't warrant him being out #1. Problem is we don't have anyone else. He's a 1st rd talent. I hope he starts playing like one.

I do agree with a previous poster in that Wilford, and maybe London should be utilized and take advantage of their size. Chad took the checkdowns because he takes what the defense gives him. Their defense wasn't stupid enough to give up a 53 yr TD as ours was... unfortunately.

Now Im not saying Chad played a great game.. he deserves some of the blame. But I'll say it again.. on that last play.. it sure would've been nice to see Ginn fight for the BALL, instead of try to tackle the defender.

I think those whole is his arm weak argument is overrated. And I think its the whole shoulder surgery thing thats got people saying it.

Listen man to come to these conclusions you gotta ask your self this

1. Is he under throwing the passes
2. Are the passes getting there too slowly
3. Are the passes limited to a certain number of yards..
4. Is his release too slow..

TO ME, and thats just me. I dont think eh has a problem with any of that. I've seen him throw 40+ yards down field. How many yards do you need to throw to receievers 100? Come on... its all about connecting. He's getting the ball there.. Aside from the beginning of the game his passes were right ont he money.. Not like say Beck or Lemonade last year...and he makes good decisions with running it if no one is open...CP is good yall give him some time to grow with these guys.. Im anxious for game 2

And would prolly have about 2 ro 3 ints

also, the kicking game was horrible... if this is a game of field position we lost it just off kicking... Kicking against a team with a one legged kicker

i think the bright spot was, yes, im going to say it. will allen. he had 2 very key broken up passes. will was a beast on sunday, and i certinally didnt expect that from him. he looked really good. and as far as our dbs i really dont think we did all that bad. we got faked out on the first td. ok, then on that 4th down td it was all renaldo hill. if you look at the film you will see that just b4 the ball was released hill charges towards the line of scrimmage, and for what. thats what let that td happen. barring those 2 mishaps, i think our bds did a good job. not a great or an excellent job. just good. definately room for improvement, but was seriously expecting higher numbers from favres arm. im optimistic about our secondary. we had what 3 sacks? and if im not mistaken they were all coverage sacks. would we have ever done that last year?

I agree I forgot to bring him up.. But he is in my eyes our shut down corner.. after a few passes qbs dont throw in his direction

All I want to say is OL, OL, OL...

Once that's fixed, everything will come together.
