Guys Gals whatever the threads keep coming about the quarterback issue here, the reciever issue there. Lets face it in the last 3 games with the wild cat or whatever you want to call it we have been able to move the ball on offense. We have really been able to win those games on offense and minus the Atlanta game the special teams have picked up their pace enought not to hurt us and play even. Our win loss record is because of our secondary issues. Wether it is the linebackers not applying enough pressure, cornerbacks not covering their guy long enough or the safties not covering the middle of the field we have issues.

It is time to pick apart our pass coverage and secondary issues.

1. Are Jason Taylor and Joey Porter and company not applying enough pressure because they are too old or the scheme we are using to apply pressure not good enough. Has JT lost a step

2. Is Will Allen and the rookie secondary just not up to the job. Has Will Allen lost a step.

3. Safties everyone is blaming Wilson and perhaps it is deserved but it appears Bell is playing down a notch too.

So far our run defense is very solid. What can Sporano do which is the key to correct this.

The quarterback issue will have to play it self out here in the next few weeks before it can really be address it is all guess work at this moment but this pass defesne the flaws are apparent and can be addressed now.

So phin nation throw in your input lets discuss this!

All of the above... Dont forget to include how crappy of a D coordinator Pissqualoni is.

Don't forget the fact that Henning hides behind the Wildcat and when the ball is in the redzone or it gets down to crunch time, he is an epic fail.

i think 90% of our woes maybe at defensive and offensive coordinator . I think it might be time to change tightends coach and wr coach and maybe secondary coach too. just been pondering it some.

You can blame the secondary all you want. If you want to know the real reason look in the paper at all the 0 and 3 teams and you will find the common denominator: all are averaging less than 14 points a game.

The Dolphins under Pennington/ Henne but they still scored enought to win and in many cases put enought points and offense on the board to win many of the games we played in last year. Actually the offense looks much better than last year and it has been built around the running game something that appeared to be the direction that the Dolphins have been heading all along but really were not able to product last year. BUT their is no way a team is going to score running the ball as a team throwing the ball. Its just a slower offense. You certainly cannot blame the issue from our defense not being rested. They are probably one of the most rested defenses in the NFL.
Now Henne has the arm to force the ball down field faster than Pennington but he is more abt to probably turn it over doing so. Still that is not the answer.

We need to stop and slow down the pass plain and simple. Sporano has got to see this and it has to be his main area of concern. With our running game we can produce enough to win some games but not with our pass defense we have.

Including "the rookie secondary" in a thread titled "lets address the real problem" ... Do you even watch the games? :err:

Its not the CB or the OLB that we have having problems with. Its our MLB and safties that are having a hard time gellin you know. Hopefully something can be worked out and still have a good season ...

Yes I watch the games work with a guy who has season tickets at the 50 years line. He sees more the game than I do because the portion of the game I see is whatever whom is broadcasting it wishes to show us. The reason I brought it up is becuase while discussing the phins with him he mentioned Vonte Davis not playing that well. Up to that point watching the game on televsion led me to believe that Davis and Smith were playing very well. Also I believe Smith has tripped a couple of times leaving his man open in the seconday making the safties look bad.

I think this is the biggest issue..I see no creativity in this defense at all..
We cannot just blame the players, something is wrong with the scheme..
We can't allow a TE to torch us 2 games in a row no matter how good he is..

I have to say that our offense is also an issue and a real issue. We've scored over 20 points once this season. If we had a decent passing attack, we would have put up over 30 against the Colts (the way we were gashing them with the run) and over 20 against the Chargers. We just sucked against the Falcons.

Take away Henne's interception, and we held an explosive offense - see how the Chargers did against the Ravens' D - to 16 points. That should be enough. Our offense is still behind our defense.

You could blame Channing Crowder for his horrible cover skills.

This right here should tell you everything you need to know about Miami's biggest issue

http://mule.he.net/~budsport/pub/killer.php

They have been the worst team in the league at the most important Pro Football statistic that determines team record (and overall team performance). No wonder they are 0-3.

And if they don't greatly rise on that list, they will be looking at a top 5 draft pick.

Thanks and that is interesting. We were moving the ball and or had it in the end zone like 4 - 5 times in the last 3 game plus the fumbles in Atlanta. Still part of the issue but itsd not because we are not so far away we cannot score. Those quick scores have been killing us since half time of the Atlanta game.

We score 14.3 points per game average
we allow 23 points per game average...end of story
