OK. Let's take a step back from the gloom and doom...

Until our QB/ o line woes are solved we're going nowhere. We did next to nothing to address our two biggest needs in the off season. Unless you expect Chad Henne and 3/5ths of the offensive line to play about twice as well as last year AND you think Thomas and Gates will have big impacts as rookies - then you really don't have much reason for optimism.
This is a great starter post by the OP and couldn't agree more with it, sure I pissed and moaned about our QB situation not being dealt with and I was even a bit miffed at not picking up a TE not to replace Fasano but rather to compliment his blocking abilities in the 2 TE sets and provide another "Escape Target" for Henne, but it's about time to stop all of that and look at what we do have. I think that we may actually witness a QB coming of age and finding his way this year on his own this year. After the draft I couldn't be sold on this no matter what and after his 2 picks vs Atlanta I initially had the usual knee-jerk reaction that OH boy another year of this but after further review it wasn't quite as bad as I first thought it was. The first pick was all on Fasano no doubt, you got to catch that ball or just drop it, tipping it up does not help that play out. The second pick, well...that was all Henne's, he severely underthrown his receiver but it's a growing process for him too and has to trust his throws more and his line more this year but hard to do that based on last years OL holes, we snugged that up quite a bit with just a few key moves we made. Henne's touchdown pass to Hartline was a thing of beauty he waited it out while not solely focusing on him for once and threw the ball with faith (he was covered real good) that his receiver would get to the point of contact uncovered...Oh and what was that I saw on that pass? Was that touch? You betcha, he most certainly had touch on that throw and that's something I've been complaining about with Henne the most since day friggin one, so that is a HUGE Positive that I'm focusing on because if and when Henne get's his touch passes down pat..our offense will be ROLLING right along with the best of them, count on it. To the poster that complained about Thomas's APC 2.2 ridiculous! Just how hard do you think these guys are really trying out there in their first preseason game with maybe 6 vanilla planned runs? Please try to remember also what other team we were playing against too, it wasn't the Bills or Browns out there ya know? All I'm saying is give the team a break and let's see how it all plays out, if we lose-we lose but at least we know we've plugged some of the holes for our next go round and besides what kind of "Fans" would we be if were all just siting back waiting for failure to say see, I told you so instead of not worrying about it and rooting our team on. GO FINS!!!!
