I would like to see all the guys on this board who said we cant stop any of our coaches from leaving,to explain the bagget situation .. i was just flamed for posting about how sabans biggest mistake was the linehan handling... and look what we did ! WE STOPPED A COACH FROM LEAVING! Now where were all the guys talking bull about my theory?! We let linehan go but stop bagget from going with him!!! LOL and what was thebs about how if we dont let coaches go how can we attract other good coaches? So much for THAT theory!!!!! TY and have a nice day.

don't make badfoot angry - you wouldn't like him when he gets angry...

LOL, Linehan left to be HEAD coach, completely different, you win nothing , good day sir.

If you are under contract you are under contract if someone has something else regarding this please add an intelligent post I want to know if there is some nfl rule that this only applies to promotions and or hc posistions.

Yers, there is a rule, coaches, can leave to be head coach, no matter what. Any other caoch can be blocked, there was rule put in a few years ago, deeming all Assistants as equal, hence getting an OC job, was not consdiered an upgrade, HC only.

The reaction i got from most on my other thread was that if we dont let our coaches go to other teams we will not be able to attract anyone who doesnt ,and i use the words others posted"SUCK".I am just not a believer in this theory,we dont use it for players under contract and i dont think we should do it for coaches...unless Saban was never worried about linehan leaving because he KNEW he could stop Bagget and use him to run the offense in linehans style ...it just doesnt make sense to give permission to linehan to interview but not bagget...perhaps it is just saban hoping to keep bagget untill/or if he finds another OC that is acceptable to him.

I dont beleive you can prevent any coach from exepting onother job as long as it is a promotion over the one they currently hold. You can deny other teams permission to intrerview coaches but you cant actually stop them from taking any job as long as its a promotion. I beleive Bagget can still be hired as the OC for the Rams but they would have to offer him the job without interviewing him first.

Edit-Are you sure about that FinFan84?

Edit no. 2-You may be right, I just read the same thing in another thread.

Final edit-FinFan84 is right, In the past you couldnt stop an assistant from leaving as long as he is being promoted. Now it only applies if you are offering a coach a HC job.

Damn I apologize if that info on the headcoaches is true...But why would they said we gave him PERMISSION? If that is the fact then it seems he wouldnt need to get permission.I guess i will have to eat my words though.I sense a beatdown coming... again!LOL

Does ANYONE have a link to a site where this info has been posted?I am completely confused now... we can deny interviews but not letting a coach under contract leave? If this is true it is one of the most (edit) rules I have ever heard.Who comes up with these freaking rules? Is this part of the NFL rules or the unions?

Mod Edit: Warnings, suspensions don't seem to deter you do they? Contact an Admin admins@finheaven.com if you ever feel like you can live within the standards of the community.

I posted all the information you needed in your other thread. I guess you didn't read any of it.

Good grief, man.

I read those other threads... Byroan (I think) posted the actual rules!

You can't say "any of our coaches" when people were talking specifically about Linehan.
