ok ok, lets say we do.........

Regardless of who comes in we aren't going to "start" all over like so many fans think. We might change philosophy, is changing to a 4-3 really that bad? We ve got the personnel to do it. Regardless we aren't getting rid of our good young players. A new coach isn't goin to come in and just cut players cause he didn't draft them. A new coach isn't going to WANT to rebuild for 5 yrs. I see so many fans cry that a new coach means rebuilding and starting over. Makes no sense.

At Gruden and we will tear apart this whole team. Move back to the 4-3, draft 7 QBs and see where that leads us.

We hire Cowher, if he wants to come out of retirement, and at least the defense stays 3-4, we add some talent on D, draft a QB, move to power running game and vertical passing game. Lose the stupid Parcells drafting requirements of 3 years experience, seniors, blah, blah, blah and start drafting the BPA and infuse some playmakers on this team.

Outside of the retreads at coaching though. OC from Green Bay, Joe Philbin is intriguing, Mike Pettine DC of the Jets is a young up-and-coming coach and Pete Carmichael OC of the Saints is another guy I have my eye on although I think he may switch the defense to the 4-3, not sure though.

Is switching back to a 4-3 really that bad and tough with the personnell on the D? Miami has 6 DT's for the 4-3 so they wouldn't need to be that deep and could probably trade Starks if needed, and just not resign Solia and Langford. That leaves Odrick, McDaniels and Merling (although he needs to go) to rotate and bring in another younger DT. Move Misi and Wake to the edges. Slide Dansby to the LOLB, keep Burnett at MLB and pick up a smaller fatser ROLB. The secondary is fine just change from a man coevrage to a zone cover two.

The 3-4's are getting torcehd right now by more athletic faster TE's. I have never been a fan of the 3-4 and think that the players have to be too specialized. The 4-3 gives you more options and better ways to hide areas of wekaness.

Are u kidding me??? every coach we have had here in the last 10 years has come in and done just that. Cut and gets rid of players that dont "FIT THEIR STYLE". Saban came in here and cleaned house and got his guys SEC players he knows and did nothing here. Now these guys came in here and got their guys and brought in players to fit their style and havent done much with it. A new caoch is going to come in and switch the defensive style or offensive stlye and get the players he thinks r going to fit his style. No coach wants to lose with someone elses personel.

So what your saying is revamp the whole defense, get rid of two or thee of the best DL we have, move dansby to OLB and draft or trade for a new ROLB and find more 4-3 DL? Sounds like a great plan!!!!! i mean lets just trade Marshall for a guard and run the ball every down. Sorry but this is a terrible idea. Lots of teams run a successful 3-4 defense. Hell we did it last year. y switch? there is a reason most teams run a 3-4 now its cuz it works. if it didnt work no one would do it.

You do realize Dansby played OLB his first three years in AZ and did pretty well right? Really not that much of a move. Solia and Langford will be free agents next year and while I really wouldn't want to trade Starks if he could bring in a thrid round pick I may just do it as he will be 28 this year.

The 3-4 works if you have the right players I agree, but we are also seeing the 3-4 defenses get torched by teams with athletic TE's, that how you beat the 3-4. So far this season 11 of the top 15 teams run a 4-3. That may change as St Louis and the Giants are yet to play but the 3-4's are not normally athletic enough with the way offenses are stretching the field. It relies too much on man to man coverage and blitzes.

What good players dis they get rid of? You really think a new coach is going to come in a get rid of Wake because he s "someone else's personnel". There's a difference between bringing in a new system n cutting ****ty players. My point is we aren't getting rid of the GOOD players we have just because we have a new coach. If you actually believe that than you're clueless bud.
