If Saban does not upgrade the QB position this year or next, I can easily see A.J. becoming his Jay Fiedler (and his ticket out of town). I know lots of fans want to be optimistic about Feeley, but as I've said before, there is nothing in his college or pro careers to suggest he will ever be a better-than-average NFL QB. He couldn't beat out Harrington, he couldn't beat out Detmer for 2nd string, he couldn't convincingly show up Fiedler in training camp. He has a better arm, but his decision making was comparable to Jay's. I hope that Nick is not stuck every year desparately trying to pick up a QB to "give him competition" ala WannSpeil. Judging by Nick's comments so far, he seems smarter than that, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
