and there is this show on the 10 greatest turnarounds in NFL history. At #9 is the 1997 Jets, coached by?

The Big Tuna!!

They went 1-15 (sound familiar??)in 2006 and Parcells turned them around to a 9-7 record!

Why can't he do that here?? I can tell you we have MUCH more talent than that Jets team did.

My call is 10-6 and a wildcard. :woot:

that man has turned around every team he worked at.. giants, pats, jets, and cowboys

wild card? woah.... I like your positive attitude, but I think 9-7 would be the best this team could do..... and 9-7 doesn't cut it in the AFC.

He COACHED the Jets, if he was just our director of football ops we wouldn't have been turned around as he was a terrible drafter. IF he was coaching I'd have no doubt you guys were going to be good soon but he's not so there are alot of doubts.

i think he will work his magic. He can select all the player and get the prefect personnel to coach them but the player have to win the games. But his track record speaks for itself. I mean Wade i winning with his talent in Dallas only time will tell

I would lean to agree with you on the coaching part. But one thing in our favor is how well the players have responded to our new Coach Sparano. There is alot of mutual respect for him. Doesn't hurt when Parcells meanders onto the field then and again to have a chat with a few of the players.

This coaching staff is a bit of an anomoly, but it isn't really a normal transition. Bill hand selected Ireland and Sparano.. likely because they are extentions of him.. thus.. whether he is golfing or watching hrose racing.. he knows the guys in charge would do as he does...

So yea.. can we say for certain we know what we have.. no.. but i can tell you.. It certainly isn't going to be nearly as inept as last year..

I'll stick to my 8-8 best case scenerio.

that wouldn't be a bad prediction if the other AFCE teams didn't improve themselves in the offseason. Problem is, on paper, both the bills and jets did.

A year ago everyone thought the Dolhpins players were responding well to cam. Change is always "refreshing", you never hear players or fans complain after a bad season and a coaching change. We went through it almost annually like you guys last decade and every new coach the players raved about and we got excited every year. I THINK Sparano will do a good job but he needs to prove it first.

he hand selected Al groh too and he had a staff of alot of former Parcells assistans including Dan henning who was awful as our OC in 2000. Extnesions are nice but they aren't Bill Parcells.

8-8 can happen if things break right, I wouldn't expect it to happen but it certainly good. teams get good and bad quickly in this league so you never know.

I like the direction this team is headed, but I still do not think Miami is good enough to beat Buffalo or the Jets. I hope I'm wrong but if Miami doesn't beat those 2 teams, Miami is headed for a losing season. I think Miami goes 5-11 or 6-10.

About the only way the team responded favorably to Cam was the lazy vets saying the practices weren't as hard. There were players saying there was no direction during training camp. The difference in play in pre season alone is night and day from last year. We didn't have an idenity from the 1st day Cam came in, we did when Bill and Tony came in. There was a fear and respect factor immediately Cam didn't have. The players said how in the weight room during the offseason lifting how when Bill walked by, it got quiet and guys were lifting extra hard. There is a big difference in coaching and team attitude from this time last year,,,Huge!

That's what I remember. The players know, for as much of an A-Hole that BP is, he's a winner.

Yep, it's not a popularity contest, Cam wanted to be liked. Bill and Tony don't care if you like them, but you better respect them and the team. Just ask Jason Taylor.
