Ok.. we all know the offense is struggling.. The oppenents D stacks the box with 7,8 and 9 players daring us to pass..
What would a good offensive coordinator do to counter this??
1) The number 1 ideal counter is to do play action pass.. well that has only provided us with limited success..
2) Quick slant passes.. if you have an accurate QB and a receiver with good hands, that might work.. but there is always the fear of the INT.....
3) Screen passes.. we've tried, we failed... nope that doesnt work...
4) Fleaflickers.. no way.. not with our offense..
5) 4 receiver sets... hmmm (as light bulb goes off) this might just work... lets see.. 4 D-men on 4 receivers.. that leaves 7 men in the box.. 1 will have to drop back to play safety.. might even get lucky and get 2 to drop back... hmm.. that leaves either 5 or a max of 6 in the box...
This might help to spread out the field so Ricky can run and worse case is it will slow the pass rush.. slow down the blitzing and it might open up the receivers a little better..
But no.. Norv NEVER goes with a 4 receiver set..
so.. we are back to square 1.. suggestions anyone??
